Small but truly unique place. I had never tried Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine and I left very satisfied! The owner is very friendly, he asked us if it was our first time and explained how to eat with the bread he served us. Out of courtesy he also left us cutlery (which we didn't use, but we appreciated the gesture). He also often passed between the tables to see if anything was needed but in a discreet way, without stopping every time. In short, we felt welcomed in everything and we liked the food a lot. We will definitely return, perhaps using the 50% The Fork discount like this time (since it was applied correctly, without needing to specify).

The place is small but very nice. We tried the vegetarian options with great satisfaction. There was only one person between the dining room and the cashier but he was still able to guarantee excellent service. Very kind and always smiling. We recommend!

Peaceful and very warm place, I've been coming to this restaurant for years now, discovered through the fork and from there, Ethiopian cuisine is enough only here. We took 4 sambusas, 2 meat and 2 very good vegetables and two beef zighini which will leave you more than satisfied and full With 50% of the fork excluding drinking, 32 euros spent even without the fork is worth it all. Quick to serve. They use a bread made from 5 flours and without the use of yeast. Visually beautiful, soft, elastic, spongy consistency with an acidic touch that dampens the strong flavors of this place's offerings. To start, sambusa with meat and vegetables, both highly recommended. Categna: instead it is aimed at those who appreciate strong flavors such as berbere (which I greatly appreciated), it has that spiciness that lights you up before a meal Beef zighini: substantial and tasty beef stew, very soft and cooked to perfection and a place where bread (injera) is used as cutlery but if you prefer you can request a fork, we tried our hand at it. As true Ethiopians!. It's worth a try

Excellent food from the Injera to the various condiments that I had the pleasure of tasting in many varieties, due to the fact that you eat them all together in a single dish with your hands. Absolutely worth trying considering the price.

Sabato 14 dicembre, io e il mio fidanzato abbiamo cenato presso Hdmona, un ristorante eritreo che abbiamo scoperto su The Fork. Grazie alla piattaforma, abbiamo prenotato e usufruito di uno sconto del 50% sul menù. Il locale è caratteristico, con un’atmosfera che ti trasporta in un’altra cultura: profumi intensi ed esotici, statuine tradizionali e un arredamento che richiama le tradizioni del luogo. Tuttavia, l’attenzione ai dettagli potrebbe essere migliorata. Per esempio, il menù ci è stato consegnato in un foglio di carta stropicciato, protetto da una busta di plastica non proprio pulita, il che stona un po’ con le aspettative. Abbiamo ordinato due piatti: lo zighinì di manzo e lo spriss bianco (sempre a base di manzo). Purtroppo, la scelta per chi non mangia piccante è risultata molto limitata, e lo spriss bianco era praticamente l’unica opzione disponibile. A livello di porzioni, i piatti erano molto abbondanti, tanto che abbiamo faticato a finirli. Questo ci ha fatto sorgere il dubbio se fossero pensati per una o due persone. La cameriera ci ha assicurato che erano per una sola persona, ma per un prezzo di 21-24 € a piatto (foto allegate), ci sono sembrati un po’ cari, nonostante la qualità del cibo fosse buona. Un aspetto che ha generato confusione è stato il momento di pagare. Alla cassa, il proprietario, che sembra avere qualche difficoltà con l’italiano, ha avuto bisogno del nostro aiuto per identificare i piatti ordinati. Questo ha creato incertezza sui calcoli e sullo sconto applicato. Non avendo ricevuto uno scontrino dettagliato, ci siamo ritrovati a ricostruire il conto da soli: * 22 € + 21 € + 3 € (acqua) = 46 € * Con lo sconto del 50%, avremmo dovuto pagare 23 € (l’acqua l’abbiamo inclusa nei nostri conti perché dopo aver chiesto al proprietario lui ci ha confermato che rientrava nello sconto del 50%). Alla fine, ci è stato richiesto un totale di 30,50 €, facendoci pensare che il coperto venisse 3,75 € a testa (un prezzo un po’ anomalo). Dopo aver ragionato da soli e aver letto attentamente quello che indicava il sito TheFork, abbiamo capito che lo sconto non si applicava all’acqua e che il coperto costava 3 € a testa, ma un conto più chiaro o una comunicazione più efficace avrebbe sicuramente evitato fraintendimenti. Un ultimo episodio che ci ha colpiti riguarda la cameriera, che mentre cenavamo ha iniziato a pulire un tavolo vicino con dell’alcool. L’odore era talmente forte da risultare nauseante, il che ha reso meno piacevole il momento. Capisco l’importanza della pulizia, ma sarebbe meglio usare prodotti meno invasivi o adottare un approccio più discreto. In sintesi, da Hdmona si mangia bene e i piatti sono abbondanti, ma il prezzo a parer mio è un po’ alto considerando ciò che il ristorante offre. Inoltre, il servizio potrebbe essere più attento ai dettagli per garantire al cliente un’esperienza più fluida e comfortevole.
