Typical restaurant serving traditional Veronese cuisine, a historic and well-maintained venue. The staff was very kind and professional, especially the blonde woman who served us impeccably and professionally, but above all, always smiling.
We started with the trio of first courses: the pasta was excellently cooked and the sauces were average. The gnocchi with radicchio and mascarpone were truly delicious and well-made. The second course was the pork cheek cooked at a low temperature with Amarone, perhaps a little undercooked.
The heart was so intense that the flavor was evident, the tenderness was good, and the Amarone cream was a bit too thin, so much so that the Amarone flavor was barely discernible. The cod with polenta was too firm for its softness, but the polenta was good. The mixed vegetables were very good and well-cooked.
The quality-price ratio was not entirely consistent, perhaps a little too high.

Delicious! I recommend booking a table in advance or arriving shortly after opening, otherwise expect a long line.

A chance discovery in a quiet little alley near Piazza Erbe.
Impeccable, fast, and pleasant service (with the added bonus of a server who spoke perfect French).
Excellent meal and fast service.
A great place to stay in Verona.

The pasta was so good I didn’t want to continue eating it because I didn’t want it to be gone. Didn’t know food could taste like this. Had the mix of ragu, ravioli and gnocchi. Absolutely incredible! Go here.

We ended up dining at Al Greppia after our original restaurant cancelled — and what a blessing in disguise that turned out to be. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely exceptional.
The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about both the food and wine. We felt truly welcomed and cared for throughout the evening.
The wine list was extensive and thoughtfully curated, with options to suit every taste. Our server offered expert recommendations, and each pairing elevated the meal beautifully.
As for the food — it was simply to die for. We shared the triple pasta tasting, which showcased impeccable technique and flavour. The stewed horse and braised beef cheeks were rich, tender, and deeply satisfying. Every dish was a celebration of Veronese tradition done with finesse and soul.
Al Greppia turned what began as a disappointment into one of the best meals of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Verona who wants an authentic, memorable dining experience.
