The location is undoubtedly evocative: just steps from the sea, one might expect a cuisine that celebrates tradition and the freshness of local seafood. Instead, one finds oneself faced with a culinary offering that is daring, perhaps too daring.
The seafood parmigiana is a gamble that doesn't convince: the fish, a forced protagonist in a dish designed to showcase eggplant and tomato, ends up confusing the palate. The same goes for the tuna steak, which attempts to emulate the meat but remains suspended in a middle ground, neither raw nor cooked, neither bold nor delicate, drowned in shavings of Parmesan cheese, cherry tomatoes, and arugula.
Experimental cuisine can be fascinating, but here it clashes with the context. The sea is there, just a few meters away, yet one gets the impression that the aim is to impress at all costs, forgetting that simplicity often pays off.
The bill, finally, is decidedly too high for the dishes offered. Originality doesn't justify the price, especially when the execution leaves doubts.
In short: a location that promises, cuisine that disorients, and an experience that leaves no mark—except on your wallet.

Not knowing where to go, we looked on Google to see what they recommended.
GINETTO, a family-run restaurant, is located in Santa Maria al Bagno. The restaurant has a terrace overlooking the sea, well-spaced tables, and a relaxed atmosphere.
We had 1 rosé wine, Trapanese-style mussels, "excellent."
Octopus meatballs, "delicious." Grilled swordfish, "excellent."
Grilled squid, linguine with clams, and fried calamari...
We were pleasantly surprised by the portions...
We spent a pleasant evening eating well and spending a fair amount.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews from August, and I'd like to point out that, as we all know, it's always a bit crowded in the central weeks. We trusted the recommendation of locals; we went on the last day of the month, and by choosing the right time (early, at sunset), we enjoyed a spectacular view and delicious dishes.
The wait for a few dishes was worth it because everything was fresh (the mussels were opened to order).
Friendly staff, family-run, keep up the good work!
