This is a very traditional restaurant in Modena. I ordered the “Enzo Style” pork fillet, which was served with plenty of cheese. I also ordered the “Vecchia Modena” green lasagna. It is highly recommended for everyone to try. My girlfriend ordered the beef fillet with balsamic vinegar. If you want to know how good the balsamic vinegar in Modena is, I highly recommend trying this dish. At the end, we ordered a Barozzina. It is a very rich chocolate dessert served with fresh cream. The other dessert was the traditional Zuppa Inglese. If you like desserts with a hint of red wine or liqueur flavor, you will love it. I recommend this restaurant. If you are planning to travel to Modena and are looking for a traditional, family-style restaurant, this is a good place to visit.

Excellent as always! I returned after a long time, wanting to introduce our cuisine to my partner from Como. What can I say? Every time he returns to Modena, we'll eat here, where tradition is tradition without all the frills.

Everything would have been fine if it weren't for the bottle of wine that cost double what was on the wine list. We didn't complain about it unless we noticed it after leaving the restaurant; we were in a hurry and had a small child.

Small, traditional restaurant downtown. I went there with my elderly parents, who have very traditional tastes, and we had a great time. The food and service were impeccable.

Excellent old-fashioned trattoria in the heart of Modena. Here you can enjoy authentic Modenese cuisine, the flavors of yesteryear. All the traditional dishes are there, tasty and plentiful. The place has a delightfully 1970s feel, which also takes you back in time. Full marks, and we'll definitely be back.

We ate very well: gnocco fritto with prosciutto crudo, green lasagna with ragù, gramigna with sausage and cream, homemade tortellini with parmesan sauce, and passatelli with parmesan sauce. We were very pleased with the food, the quick service, and the fair price. The place is a little dated, but personally, that doesn't matter...I think it's precisely in these more rustic places that you can find authentic cuisine. I recommend it to everyone, and if we ever get back to Modena, we'll definitely be back.

We had made a reservation for lunch on Sunday and were shown to our table right away, without any problems. The service was impeccable: the waitresses were helpful, smiling, and very friendly. The food, authentic and tasty, fully respects Emilian tradition. I hadn't been back to Enzo's in many years, fearing it had become too "touristy." Instead, I found the same flavors and warmth intact. It was a bit like returning to grandma's house after a long time. As a Modena native, I highly recommend it.

Very, very good. I recommend the homemade tortelloni. They're fantastic. The staff is very friendly. The wait times are reasonable. The prices are very fair.

The wait was minimal; we hadn't booked and expected a bit of a line. The service, well, was excellent. They served the table next to ours first, almost all together, and they ordered half an hour after us. I must say, however, that the staff was very kind. I didn't like the dishes. The boiled meat the other person ordered seemed long-cooked, dark and dry, and had no accompanying sauce (the next table had also had chicken or capon, but we didn't). My lasagna had giant troccoli filled with ragù and tasted strongly of tomato; in short, very "canteen-style" in my opinion and taste. The only good thing was the fried schiacciatina with prosciutto (very greasy but very good). It also seemed a bit pricey, but they display the prices at the entrance, so go in after reading them. We didn't like it, and we won't be back.

14/04/2025: Based on the good reviews, we ended up at this pizzeria, which looks rather unassuming from the outside, and had a wonderful evening with a truly delicious pizza! Nonna is at the pizza oven, baking the outstanding pizza! We'd love to come back. :-)

09/03/2026: Legend has it that a place still exists in the heart of Modena, a tiny hideaway of culinary excellence where, upon entering, you're welcomed into one of the most authentic and traditional establishments. This small, intimate kingdom, a room with five or six tables, has been run dictatorially for the past 35 or 40 years solely by Signora Ada. In the morning, she goes to the Albinelli market to do the shopping, then cooks, serves, manages, etc. Just her and a unique passion. Exceptional dishes, always freshly made and never heavy. BUT THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR EVERYONE, BEWARE!!! There's a menu, but it usually directs you to the best of what the market has to offer daily, as she's the only one there, and therefore dictatorial. She'll make sexual jokes and thinly veiled innuendos that might make the uninitiated stiff. But that's part of the show and the convivial atmosphere that's created among the patrons. She's a unique character. Anyway, three appetizers: porchetta and snow peas, prosciutto and melon, cotechino and cabbage. Top. Tortelloni, and a main course of guinea fowl, shank, or whatever. House cakes, water, wine, nocino liqueur, and mokona coffee, or if you're among the last to arrive, go and drink it with her at the bar... €40. Excellent, light and not heavy, no less than the most prestigious restaurants in the city. A day out of the ordinary. Thank you, Ada, for your passion.
