The atmosphere is old-fashioned but charming, and the boiled meats are spectacular with their sauces. A bit noisy and the service slow, but that's also a plus because it fosters conviviality. The price is fair.

In Reggio Emilia, there's a restaurant where you can relive your childhood. When my grandmother used to cook us cappelletti with broth and boiled meat with sauces. We really enjoyed it. It was a real treat. The boiled meat was delicious, and there was no shortage of sauces to choose from. They had them all.
The cappelletti were the same as the ones my poor grandmother used to make, who could have been everyone's grandmother. What did we drink? Lambrusco, of course. Mario Soldati, the great director and writer, used to say that Lambrusco should be drunk in large glasses and that it's a wine that only truly expresses itself after at least two or three glasses. And so we did. We finished with tiramisu. Even the prices are those of the past. Unfortunately, the tragedies of this crazy world quickly brought us back to reality, but for a while, we went back to the beautiful Sundays spent having lunch with relatives. Grandparents first and foremost. Doesn't that sound like much? See you next time.

Best tortellini in brodo made by nonna in the kitchen. Very authentic food, nice welcoming staff, and very traditional Reggio Emilia dishes. Can’t go wrong.

Typical Reggio Emilia restaurant that serves boiled and roast meats still on the trolley that I, despite frequenting many restaurants scattered between Emilia Romagna, Umbria, Lazio, Marche and Abruzzo, had never seen a historic business, polite, professional and friendly staff, very nice, excellent food, no waiting even though we arrived late, we will definitely return

Canossa, where time has not moved.
Invited by a friend from Reggio to try the typical cuisine of the area, we were really enthusiastic!
The restaurant has proudly remained in the 70s, the walls and furniture exude the history of the city.
The menu is traditional Emilia, with lots of meat and accompanying sauces, boiled meat is clearly a must! The plating is not important, here the important thing is the authentic flavors and the abundant portions.
The service is familiar, in the sense that you feel just like family and the waiting times are secondary. It is worth highlighting the waiter who serves you directly at the table with the cart of meats still on the fire and cut at the moment, which is something almost folkloristic and for which the price is worth it (which cannot be cheap, given the choice, the quality and the abundance, ed.).
If you are in the Reggio area and want to try real Reggio cuisine, you definitely have to go to Canossa.
