A lot of heat inside that greatly affects the lack of conservation that the place has. With textiles, paintings and wood that can be affected by biological attacks, it is truly crazy to have the windows wide open, even more so being close to trees and during a heat wave.

Personally it was the most beautiful and interesting thing I visited in Catania. A palace rich in history and unique beauty. The rooms that can be visited are full of anecdotes and particular stories. Everything is accompanied by guides, young and well-trained guys, who know how to describe the experience in the best way

I have attached a photo: On the left side is the time table for tours in Italian. Tours in English and French are next to it. Full price is 10e, for students 7e. Lasts around 30mins. You hear interesting stuff, history of the city. There is no point in going there without a guide. You have 5 rooms and going through them makes no sense.

The palace is a must-do in Catania, especially with the guided tour offered in the palace as they tell you various anecdotes and stories of the palace that are not written elsewhere. Our guide Giulia was very interesting in introducing various details of the palace and the family who built it into the description of the palace!

20/06/2024: The Il Gabbiano restaurant in Catania is a true jewel for fish lovers. I had the pleasure of tasting the spaghetti with squid ink and the paccheri with fresh prawns and I must say that they were among the best fish dishes I have ever tasted. The fish was very fresh and perfectly cooked, with a delicate taste and rich in flavours. The restaurant staff was extremely attentive and courteous, always ready to satisfy our every request and recommend the best dishes to try. The location is enchanting, in Piazza Verga which makes the dining experience even more pleasant. I highly recommend the Il Gabbiano restaurant to all those who love fish and quality cuisine. I can't wait to go back to try other delicacies on the menu!
