A jewel in the centre of Catania. Upon entering, you are immediately pulled back in time to a world since gone by. A time when the Lords and Nobles quite rightly ruled over the plebians. A time where one man's hard earned birthright was not so unjustly taken by the state. If I could go back in time, I would be lucky just to be a lowly servant if it meant I could wonder these halls and bask in the Moncada Paternò Castello aura. Truely magnífico!

The palace is splendid! A well-known example of Sicilian Baroque. With the guide, who in some cases is also an heir of the family, you will not miss some important and less visible details given the opulence of the rooms. Some stories and anecdotes certainly enriched the visit. Definitely recommended if you are visiting Catania!
