We stumbled upon this place by chance, having searched for it online during a trip, and found ourselves in this little oasis of peace surrounded by nature a few kilometers off the highway. It presents itself as a simple trattoria, but we immediately knew we'd be satisfied, given that the number of cars there for a midweek lunch indicated it was well-known in the area. C: We started to select the dishes, even though everything was delicious! Typical local cuisine with some meat dishes and a wide assortment of lake fish. I tried a salmon trout tartare, which was amazing: I'd never tasted anything like it! The truffle crostoni, the fresh pasta picci with lake ragù, and the grilled fish were also delicious. We enjoyed it so much that on the return trip, we changed our plans to be able to return. U: Even though I'm not particularly fond of lake fish, these dishes won me over. Everything was delicious, traditional cuisine combined with innovation, with some unusual combinations. Just a little too much salt in some dishes (e.g., the tomato gnocchi) for my taste, but everything was very good! Recommended!

Really liked this place. Excellent brustico and tegamaccio. Pasta also great -- friendly service and customers. I'll be back!

16/02/2026: Beautiful venue, quiet and convivial atmosphere. Excellent cocktails and friendly staff.
06/12/2025: We were looking for a place to have a drink and we found it by accident!! The young man who greeted us was very friendly and showed us the foreign tables where we could sit. We ordered our drinks and I can say that the cocktails were great!! We also ordered a taco with tartare but that was not one of the strong points of the place… relatively good prices for drinks!!

26/11/2025: A true old-school trattoria in the center of Asciano where substance is valued over aesthetics! It's actually called "the village restaurant." The pizza menu is truly extensive: red, white, calzone, pinsa; the meat dishes are also tempting. We shared a pappa con burrata, truly delicious and creamy. Then we tried a pinsa and a pizza: in my opinion, the pinsa dough was far superior, while my husband preferred the pizza with its nice thin crust, which is hard to find these days! We finished with cantucci and vinsanto, a classic you can never go wrong, and a tiramisu with cantucci and vinsanto, truly delicious, with just the right amount of alcohol, a good cream, and garnished with almonds and caramel! We drank three red beers on tap. I'm talking about a bill outside of any market, only €50!!! (I should point out that we had a small discount due to the agreement with our accommodation in the city) but even if it had been €10 more it would have been way below average these days!
