The food was very good, but oh my god, the service! The waiters were pleasant, but the managers were unpleasant; it was as if we were bothering them, even when it came time to pay, which is normally when they're smiling.

Not a typical tourist destination in the heart of Trastevere. Less crowded than other places in the area. Positive: many Romans as customers.
Attentive and friendly staff. They immediately changed my beer as soon as I noticed a fly had soaked in it.
The pizza was fresh and good. The fried calamari and shrimp portions were just a bit less generous. The homemade tiramisu was really good.
Pleasant atmosphere; I recommend sitting outside for a unique experience.

The staff were very knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. The food was excellent. The appetizers included supplì, battered cod, and Roman-style fried zucchini flowers with anchovies and mozzarella, all exquisite. We had tonnarelli cacio e pepe, tonnarelli alla gricia with artichokes, and rigatoni carbonara, all excellently cooked. The main courses included Roman-style tripe, lamb, and grilled pork chops with a side of Roman-style artichoke and sautéed chicory. A place to return to and recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Roman cuisine. The owner, truly friendly and attentive to his customers, is very willing to accommodate any request.

One of my favorite restaurants in Rome, I don't know why it only has a 3.9 rating. It's totally undeserved. The grilled food is fantastic, and the street is quiet and charming. The best spot for an evening in Trastevere without the crowds.

The current rating is completely absurd. Marcello all'Arco di San Calisto is a solid restaurant with a great tradition. Despite the numerous tourists, due to its location, it is equally beloved and frequented by locals for its rich and flavorful cuisine. The pizza is typically Roman, very thin, the tender green peppercorn fillet, and the mixed grill is a standout second only to the porcini mushrooms, which are served both on their own and over pasta. The quick and friendly waiters remind you why eating out is worth it.

One of our favorite places near our house for many years. They have a wide variety of dishes, all equally delicious. We usually order the mixed grill, artichokes, and sometimes the pasta dishes. When in season, they have fresh porcini mushrooms and strawberries. Other times, we've had the pizza, which is delicious and very thin (the real Roman kind). An authentic family place in a neighborhood now overrun with similarly touristy places. Highly recommended!

Typical old-style Roman restaurant in the heart of Trastevere, offering excellent traditional Roman dishes. Weather permitting, you can eat outside in one of Trastevere's alleys. Excellent value for money. Must try. 😉👍🏻
