I stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant in the center of Galatina. I must say that even following the directions on the map, it's not immediately visible. But what a spectacular place! I was enchanted by the 18th-century building that houses the restaurant, with its beautiful original mosaic floor! We loved both the ambiance and the service we received. The dishes we ordered were very carefully prepared, and special mention goes to the dessert: millefeuille with limoncello cream and almond crumble. Highly recommended. Well done to everyone, especially the kitchen!

We were led here by the good reviews, but were ultimately disappointed. Ambience: beautiful terrace, but terrible lighting, as were the furniture and table arrangements – more like a beach pizzeria in Bibione. It's a shame, the location could have been better. Service: one of four waiters was well-handled – the rest were somewhat helpless. Food: okay. The antipasti terra e mare consisted of a lot of fried food, fairly tasteless parmigiana, etc. – a lot, very heavy, very bland. The pasta was okay, but too much after the antipasti. Unfortunately, it didn't convince us or appeal to us at all.

Located in an ancient palace in the historic center of Galatina, this place offers a unique experience. The staff's welcome immediately puts you at ease. All the dishes (sea and land) highlight the typical flavors of Salento. I recommend the octopus with potatoes and croutons, but also the pizza if you want something simpler. Recommended.

There is heart and soul! Without a doubt an ancient, romantic place with a strong taste. It seems to be in the noble house of ancient Salento barons, with all their attentions and courtesies. An extremely technical and tasty cuisine, a light and leavened pizza. It is no coincidence that it is a restaurant indicated in the Michelin guide.

Cotognata Leccese

16/07/2025: Personal amable, precios correctos, gran lugar de tradición para mezclarse con los lugareños. Experiencia auténtica. Recomendaría
12/07/2025: Incredible place, and the food is even better! Without a doubt, the best rustic restaurant in Lecce, and the buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich is out of this world! You can eat it at any time. The owner, Barbara, served us directly, and it was spectacular. She suggested a house iced tea, which you can't miss! Everything is fine!

Ristorante Vecchia Otranto

01/07/2025: Very fast service. Booked for 9pm with the warning that there would be a bit of a wait, at 9.10pm we were already seated. Everything very good, waitress very kind and helpful
30/06/2025: Vecchia Otranto is a wonderful little restaurant tucked away in the quiet backstreets of Otranto – a true hidden gem that delivers on both charm and flavour. We began with a beautifully cooked starter that was fresh, flavorful, and elevated by the addition of fresh oregano, which added a lovely, aromatic brightness to the dish. It set the tone perfectly for what was to come. For mains, we had the sagne 'ncannulate with shrimp – a standout dish with homemade pasta and deep, authentic local flavors. We also tried the tagliolini with tuna, another pasta made in-house that was rich, light, and full of character. These were perfectly complemented by a local rosé made from the Negroamaro grape – crisp, dry, and just right with seafood and pasta. We ended with a classic tiramisu – creamy, balanced, and the perfect finale to a fantastic meal. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the entire evening feel relaxed and welcoming. This is a place that takes pride in local ingredients, traditional recipes, and heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Otranto who wants an authentic, delicious dining experience.
