I wish I could give them 10 stars. I lived in Germany for six years, and took a lot of trips to Italy while I was there. This is hands-down the best meal I have had in probably 80+ restaurant dinners or lunches. They were so incredibly hospitable and every dish made us roll our eyes in happiness. And the wine….bliss. This should be a Michelin bib gourmand. Come here for food and stay in the hotel. Great walking and wine tasting potential.

Possibly one of the best meals I've had in Italy. Outstanding service, great wines, and a superb meal. Wonderful presentation, absolutely delicious food, deserving of a Michelin recommendation. Make a special trip to this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Enchanting place, welcoming rooms, rustic elegance that makes you feel at ease. Courteous, attentive, and capable service. Carefully crafted dishes, captivating flavors, excellent raw ingredients, pastas, meats, and vegetables are respected and enhanced. Varied wine list, with a good selection of producers. Menu sampled by two: vegetable tartlet/bagna cauda reduction, mushroom/licorice risotto, stew/Barolo reduction (melting), chestnut dessert/orange sauce, panettone/zabaglione (sumptuous). Tried several times, over several stays, I'll add the latest "menu discoveries": quail/porcini mushrooms, porcini mushroom/truffle tart, pumpkin/porcini risotto, gnocchi bleu/beetroot, fried porcini mushrooms, chickpea/vegetable soup, hot chocolate tart, chestnut cream...SUPER-LA-TI-VI. Rooms for those who want to stay spacious, comfortable, clean, and with spectacular views!

The best risotto I've ever eaten. High-quality ingredients, excellent preparation, combined with extremely kind staff and a truly respectable location, it was a wonderful discovery. I dined there three times in just one week. You are fabulous, you deserve the best. Sergio.

A pleasant discovery: this delightful restaurant in the Alta Langa. A very refined and welcoming location; in the warm months, you can dine on the balcony with a very romantic atmosphere and a view of the forest. The dishes are carefully prepared and well-prepared. The agnolotti are delicious, the lasagna with an excellent ragù is excellent, and the chickpea cream appetizer is delicious and mouthwatering. The tiramisu is a bit special, good, but I prefer it traditional. The wine list is excellent. The owner is kind and friendly, as is the service. Fast and attentive service. It's off the beaten path, making it highly recommended by me, an Alba resident!

We had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant three times in a row during a stay in the Langhe... and each time was a different, surprising, and perfectly executed experience. Balcone sulle Langhe is a family-run restaurant, lovingly curated down to the smallest detail: the atmosphere is intimate, welcoming, and authentic, with a discreet elegance that immediately puts you at ease. The cuisine is refined, attentive, and at times even creative, yet always deeply rooted in the local area. The passion and expertise of those working in the kitchen are clearly evident: every dish was tasty, engaging, and never predictable. I hadn't eaten so well in a long time. Sincere thanks to all the staff—always present, but never intrusive—and especially to Federico, whose kind and warm welcome, helpfulness, and friendliness immediately made the experience even more special. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation—try it and believe it.

06/12/2025: The restaurant doesn't have private parking, but you can find space in a lot across the street and is located in a hamlet outside the town of La Morra. I can't comment on the wine list as I didn't choose the bottle myself. The menu is well-stocked with typical local dishes and offers six different appetizers, first courses, and second courses. The desserts are a bit more extensive, always accompanied by a glass of Moscato d'Asti. In my case, I opted for a meat salad appetizer with porcini mushrooms in oil. It was a good portion, with very tender and flavorful minced meat. Salt, pepper, and oil were also brought along for a truly satisfying dressing. The extra virgin olive oil, in particular, had an excellent flavor, not at all overpowering, even though I added some to the dish. The first course was a trio of potato gnocchi filled with fondue and sprinkled with black truffle. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my personal taste. I couldn't taste the truffle, and the same goes for the fondue filling, which I found to be too light compared to the gnocchi dough, making the latter, for my taste, too heavy, and weighing down the dish. A delicious treat are the small pastries, biscuits, cake, baci, hazelnuts, nougat, and mandarins, unfortunately cold from the refrigerator, which are served with the coffee. The presentation of the dishes, in detail, could be a little more thoughtful. The staff was always present in the dining room and very courteous to meet my every need. The €3 cover charge is more than compensated by the various types of homemade bread, which are replenished as soon as they run out, and by the change of cutlery between courses, a nice touch. The price of the meal is in line with the type of cuisine and the attention to detail.
04/12/2025: I visited for lunch with a local sommelier. It's located on a hill in the village of La Morra, surrounded by vineyards, and is full as soon as it opens, so I'm sure it's a popular restaurant. The wine, appetizers, pasta, carne cruda, and bittero tonnato were all delicious. The service at the restaurant was great.
