This place is absolutely lovely, from the staff to the food to the location. They are very vegetarian and vegan friendly, and the staff are easy to communicate with in English. Loved this place and will surely visit again if I'm ever back here!

We had wanted to return here after a wonderful family visit in 2015. After a number of missed attempts while spending multiple weeks in Florence we finally took the quick train trip to Certaldo. No disappointment here. This is still at the top of our list for Tuscan dining and Certaldo Alto is charming. Everything is home made, the service is great and the Lardo Colonnata Bruschetta is a don’t miss.

So friendly. The food was also very good. A small selection, but very well prepared.

We stopped by chance while visiting the town. The service was excellent, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The pici all’aglione and the pici “casa tua” were spectacular, an explosion of flavor that took me back to my childhood. Very characteristic place. Perfect for those looking for an authentic experience! Highly recommended. If we come back here we will definitely stop again!

Visiting Certaldo Alto, the birthplace of Boccaccio (I recommend visiting it), we booked in this very rustic restaurant that takes us back to a medieval atmosphere... quality appetizer, very respectable raw materials... good first courses but if I have to give a judgement among the three we had (aglione... truffle... mushrooms...)... the one with truffle deserves first place... anyway everything is good, good raw materials... the service is unpretentious but friendly, the prices are average.....

Lunch outside along the road with wooden tables and chairs. Menu definitely full of typical and local products. Pici all'aglione with cherry tomatoes and walnuts very good, served in a pan. Prices average or even lower than others in the same place. I would recommend it

En un viaje especial a la Toscana encontramos este restaurante por referencia de otro propietario del restaurante. Verificamos las reseñas de Trip advisor y encontramos que esta es una de las más valoradas en Certaldo. Estamos de acuerdo con otros en que esto fue especial. Éramos 5 "seniors" que viajan bastante y no se impresionan fácilmente. Sin embargo, desde la recepción acogedora hasta la ayuda que elegimos en el menú estábamos encantados. La mayor parte de lo que pedimos fue del chef especial, así que es difícil predecir lo que puede encontrarse, pero el desierto de pastel de manzana y salsa Chantilly con cerezas era digno de mención. We were looking for a place to stop and eat in Certaldo, among the places with the best scores I chose this one! Home atmosphere, very particular with all the writings on the walls. We chose from the proposals on the menu of the day. Pici with peposo, pici with tomato and peposo. Very good. The highlight was the slice of pastiera, homemade, also because the owners are Neapolitan. A fine thing!! We will definitely be back. Honest value for money!

Tante volte leggi le recensioni di trip e Ti sembrano esagerate… ecco non è questo caso.. un posto a dir poco unico ti senti veramente a casa e si mangia veramente benissimo, credo che dei pici cosi mai mangiati per non parlare delle coccole 5 stelle sono veramente poco Unica cosa mettete sul navigatore “certaldo alto” perché se no vi tocca fare una salita disumana in mezzo al nulla… quando invece 4 passi nel borgo meritano
