Excellent atmosphere, welcoming, clean, and very friendly staff. The menu is high-quality and well-explained by the refuge staff. You can dine inside or, weather permitting, outside.

The menu honors Friulian tradition with dishes surprisingly refined in preparation and presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed the selection of wild herbs and the nature trail set up by the refuge that guided us through the area. I ate the best cjarsons here, ever!

Rifugio Tamai is always a wonderful discovery! The welcome is warm and friendly, the staff extremely helpful and always smiling. The quality of the food is truly excellent, well above the average of traditional mountain refuges: carefully prepared dishes with top-quality local ingredients. A place where you feel pampered and where it's worth stopping for both the view and the cuisine. Highly recommended!

The refuge occupies a beautiful location on Mount Zoncolan. You can dine both inside and outside. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the quality of the dishes. We chose the typical Cjarsons, frico with polenta, and suckling pig. They all arrived barely warm, and in my opinion, the flavor didn't represent true Carnic cuisine. The beer was good. The outdoor area is very nice and well-kept, as is the sensory trail that starts at the pass and leads to the refuge.

08/09/2025: One of the nicest places in the area.
07/09/2025: We stopped by for Sunday lunch. The location is truly beautiful. The food and service are average. Nothing special. From a place where there's reserved parking for Rolls Royces and bottles costing hundreds of euros, I expect impeccable service and a different image.... Waiters in t-shirts are simply unheard of, and I didn't find the excellence of the food that's so much touted. The place is overrated, but if that's how the customers like it, good for them.

05/09/2025: Stayed at the 38th Parallel on the Alpe Adria bike tour. I highly recommend it. It's an overall 10/10 hotel.
