Rifugio Marco Balicco In Mezzoldo

The food is very good, the price is right. Very welcoming place. The path to get to the refuge is very beautiful. If I could I would have given 7 stars

Nice refuge in a beautiful, wide valley. Small, but welcoming and the managers are really kind, helpful and friendly. There are several paths to get there, the ones made by us are feasible 124-124b.

Very nice son refuge in a panoramic position run by friendly and very passionate people. It's not very big but has everything you need. The internal room has a few tables but they overlook huge windows which allow for a magnificent view. Despite the isolated location there is a weak presence of telephone signal. Few bars but in case of emergency you can send messages or call. I went up from the "middle" route, parking at hairpin bend 9 in Fraccia but there is very little parking, I suggest arriving early in the morning. The trail is wonderful, with parts in the woods and others in open spaces with great views. The streams and streams that descend into the valley are very beautiful. I suggest waterproof footwear because in some places you can immerse your feet in water (I don't mean rubber boots but good boots). The difference in altitude is medium and the route is not demanding or difficult, it is suitable for everyone.

This little refuge is very beautiful. The pizzoccheri and all the other dishes are delicious. I also recommend trying Dal, a Nepalese dish served with Polenta, perhaps not as the only dish, but sharing it with the diners. A taste out of the ordinary, but much appreciated. The managers are more than kind and friendly and went out of their way to bring forward the time of our lunch compared to the reservation. To reach the refuge there are several options, we started from the Madonna delle Nevi and arrived in 1.40 despite it taking 2 hours. Let's be clear that we are not fast walkers. The start is a little steep, but nothing major. Highly recommended

True strength is authenticity. Everything is done with the heart, you can feel it and see it. When you find such a passion, you don't notice small flaws. Small refuge immersed in the beauty of the place.

Meraviglioso salire a piedi e trovare un posto di ristoro che ti fa trovare più di un piatto vegano all'arrivo, buoni soprattutto, circondati da un paesaggio stupendo: Zuppa di legumi e Dahl di lenticchie. Grazie che pensate a tutti.

Ideale per una gita in montagna anche con bambini al seguito. Salita non troppo impegnativa.

Con una camminata di meno di due ore si arriva dal rifugio Madonna delle nevi al Balicco, qui, in un angolo di pace di può mangiare ottima cucina ad un prezzo onesto ed i gestori sono davvero gentili e simpatici.

Durante Fermati per il pranzo durante una nostra settimanale escursione abbiamo apprezzato la cucina del Rifugio Balicco che unisce piatti tipici tradizionali a piatti internazionali come il DAL una zuppa di lenticchie nepalese. Pranzo chiuso con deliziosi dolcetti. Ci ritorneremo presto.
