We went for an aperitif at the Lo Scalo restaurant. It had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and was very clean. We sat inside, which was well-heated, and ordered the platter of cured meats and cheeses. The flavors were excellent, authentic, and of high quality. The fried gnocco was SUPERB!!!! The seafood spaghetti was delicious, as were the fillet steak and the pizza. In short, everything was perfect. The kindness of the waiter and the sweetness of the owner were unique on Lake Maggiore. We'll gladly return to be pampered again. Highly recommended.

The food was excellent, but the service was completely off-topic. You didn't feel truly welcome. And it wasn't the fault of the staff; they were manageable.

Ristorante Lo Scalo in Cannobio deserves a full 5 stars! The location on Lake Maggiore is stunning, especially at night with the illuminated arched windows. The staff is friendly, and the service is excellent. The tomato salad with onions and the homemade lasagna were delicious, and the spaghetti aglio e olio with peperoncini was a delight. Authentic cuisine with regional ingredients – a must for gourmets!

We heard a lot of good things about La Scalo on social media, and we weren't disappointed. The food was truly delicious, and we had a beautiful table near the front. The service wasn't as perfect as the food, but it was okay.

09/11/2025: We arrived after running the Lake Maggiore Marathon. Even though the kitchen was already closed (because we arrived very late), they were very kind and seated us. Friendly and excellent service, good pizza. I recommend it, we'll be back 🍕
23/09/2025: Great pizza but you can't share with your wife .... never encountered that before. You each have to order a pizza?? The quality of the pizza and the beer made us happy though.

18/08/2025: Perfect for a drink and a swim in the lake. You can also rent SUPs, etc. - unfortunately, we didn't have time for that.
14/08/2025: A lovely, quiet spot on the lake with comfortable, affordable lounge chairs. You can eat and drink, rent subs, go water skiing, etc. It's a nice, relaxing spot. Dogs are welcome in a designated area.
