Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa In Barga

Nice location with great view over the mountains and villages. Strong WiFi in room and around the hotel. However the hotel is showing wear. Dents in the elevator door, towels in our room start to fray etc.

This is a GEM of a hotel/resort and the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. From check-in with Manuel & Jarrad (two fabulous human beings) that love to serve guest needs around the clock with professionalism and kindness, to Lorenzo running the restaurant with incredible food that I barely photographed because I inhaled it before remembering to get pictures most times, to the beautiful hostess Priscilla always ensuring gorgeous seating, to the live music on select nights (great talented people), to Achille keeping the pool sparkling clean and safe with monitoring the chemicals often, to Serena serving us food and cocktails at the pool area, to the 2 fabulous deep tissue massages I did at their spa… if I could give this resort 100 stars I would. The GM George (shout-out from a fellow Lebanese person) should be extremely proud of his hotel, staff, spa, and all around experience his team gives. 100/10 and no exaggeration. I’ve never seen a better or more dedicated staff than at this resort. They work hard around the clock and are ready to serve all your needs. They did a fabulous job on our much needed laundry too and the price is beyond fair for the service. We extended by 3 extra days and skipped time elsewhere for this because of how amazing the second we walked in was until the second we left. It’s gorgeous, very clean, and the BEST air conditioning found in Italy. They had separate adjustable thermostats in the bedroom and living room and our stay was SO comfortable. It’s honestly even more gorgeous in person and my pictures do not do it justice. You must go to see it in person. The views are incredible 🇮🇹 This is an Indigenous part of northern Tuscany that I’m so grateful we found. Stay here. It is worth every penny and compared to prices elsewhere, it’s very reasonable. I love you Renaissance Tuscany, your entire staff, and we will be back. We are an active-duty US military family that has gone all over the world and this is hands down the best place we have ever stayed from start to finish. Relaxing, peaceful, accommodating, and views that literally take your breath away. Thank you for making our trip unforgettable . We love you and will come back often for the rest of our lives. Wow, what an exceptional gem in the northern mountains of Tuscany. Cannot believe a resort exists like this with Mountain views from the swimming pool (great drinks service) and restaurant. From check in to service across all areas of the resort, every employee genuinely cares about helping you and getting you exactly what you need to relax at this beautiful resort. Live music on the restaurant patio while eating dinner (Lorenzo took perfectly great care of us at dinner) is something our family will never forget as the most special Tuscan experience. (If you’re looking for wineries nearby, there’s one with 7minutes drive and many more within 40minute drives) We were especially impressed by Manuel (front desk) in how he cared for us during the check-in process and he was able to seamlessly extend our stay at the resort within minutes of realizing how amazing this property is. This place is worth every penny. It’s a must to experience. We have traveled the world and this is hands-down the most top 3 beautiful resorts we have ever stayed at. 100 out of 10. We highly recommend it

My family has been a loyal Marriott customer for over 30 years. This hotel, by far, has been the absolute worst in customer service. From the moment we arrived on July 4th, the drop-off was about a block away from the front door, with no one there to greet you, show you where the entrance was, or even help get you into the hotel's front door. When we finally got to the check-in counter, we were met with two clerks who were very confrontational from the get-go. No "welcome" or even a "good afternoon" in any language. We were asked for our passports. The clerk was utterly disrespectful, including telling us that our credit card had been declined when, in fact, it clearly stated that it was paid for. He got so loud and rude that we had to ask him to step away and ask someone else to assist us. When the clerk manager came in to relieve him, she confirmed that our bill had been paid in full. She barely apologized and offered us a glass of champagne, which was provided to all hotel guests, not those verbally accosted. Even after all that, we had no help getting to our room. So we ran around lost for the first 10 minutes until we found ourselves in our room. The room was a great size but outdated, as was the entire hotel. The elevator is from the '60s, and the amenities were very poor. The only good area is the restaurant and bar area. Emmanuel and Linda were great. The breakfast buffet was not great. They cut a lot of corners. Overall, this beautiful, picturesque hotel is largely a facade. The inside lacks a proper manager, the front desk staff needs a lot of work, and the amenities need to be improved. This is nowhere near what I expect a Marriott property to operate like.

If I could rate this higher, I would. Jarrod was the best front desk person we have had in the 2 weeks abroad in multiple hotel experiences. Very welcoming and helpful. Our room was heavenly, the view was so beautiful I was speechless and may have cried a little bit (in a good way) Emmanuel and Lorenzo made our bar and dining experience exceptional. The property was very clean and smelled serine. I could only dream of being back there some day.

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed it. The location is breathtaking. The rooms are very nice, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool and the restaurant terrace both offer great views. The food is delicious both at breakfast and dinner. We were treated very courteously. We would love to come back!

Il relais è situato in un’area privata molto ampia e bella con una vista spettacolare sulla valle sottostante. Il personale della reception molto gentile, accoglienti le camere. Bellissima la terrazza esterna del ristorante dove si mangia anche bene. Migliorabile il servizio e anche l’area benessere non all’altezza dell’hotel. In ogni caso bellissimo week ind in un’oasi di tranquillità.
