A Hidden Gem with Great Food Poldo e Gianna Osteria may look rather unassuming from the outside, but the food certainly makes up for the lack of showiness. It’s also a long-standing Michelin-recommended restaurant, which makes it a worthwhile stop for anyone looking for authentic Roman flavors. I tried the Carciofi Croccanti, which was delicious and nicely crispy, along with the beef, which was tender and well-seasoned. The Tiramisù was also a pleasant surprise, with its own distinctive character and flavor. And on a hot summer day in Rome, nothing beats an ice-cold Coca-Cola - it was pure refreshing happiness! 🥤 Overall, the food was very enjoyable and definitely the highlight. The only downside was that the service was rather average and could be more attentive. A modest-looking place with genuinely good food. Definitely worth trying if you’re in Rome.

The Michelin recommendations probably didn’t help by setting expectations high, so even though our dinner was perfectly fine, the food was really just ok. Our family of 5 adults tried a large variety - the lamb and the code appetizers, the rigatoni carbonara, and for entrée the cod, the veal, and the braised beef. Everything was ... ok. It's our fifth dinner in Rome, and it's telling that this is the first restaurant where no one of us had a favorite. With seating upstairs and downstairs, the restaurant is spacious and well appointed. Service was good, but we didn’t get much attention until we were finished with dessert. It almost felt as if we were being asked to leave. Having said all that, prices were on the low side, thus commensurate with food quality.

Some treasures are only discovered when you get lost. After a decidedly disappointing experience at a typical tourist trap—where the high bill didn't justify mediocre cuisine and sloppy service—stumbling upon this place by chance was a true blessing. For the same price as the tourist restaurant I visited before, the difference is simply abysmal. Here, the quality of the food and the ambiance are far superior in every way. The restaurant's strengths: Impeccable cuisine: Excellent dishes, prepared with the freshest ingredients that enhance the flavors without too much frills. You can taste the love for true tradition. Ambience and atmosphere: Spotlessly clean, well-kept, and with an incredibly welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a break from the chaos of the city. Exquisite service: The dining room staff are the real added value: waiters are always smiling, friendly, fast, and attentive to every customer's need, without ever being intrusive. Value for money: Excellent. Paying the right amount for divine food and feeling pampered is priceless. An authentic address, far from the usual commercial circuits. I will definitely return during my next visit to Rome!

We returned to this restaurant for the second time and, once again, we were truly satisfied. The food was excellent: the dishes are carefully crafted, prepared with quality ingredients, and you can sense the attention paid to the selection of the ingredients. It's wonderful to find a place where quality is maintained over time and where you always leave wanting to return. An experience we definitely recommend and will gladly repeat!
