Poldo e Gianna Osteria In Roma

I finally managed to try this tavern that I had booked for years and I left satisfied! The restaurant is in a strategic and very central area, right behind the parliament. It is hidden in a small alley but easily recognizable by its sign. Despite being a tavern, the place is very refined and with attention to the smallest details, the style is modern and elegant with some references to tradition. The staff is kind and helpful, in particular Ido and one of his colleagues whose name I unfortunately don't know, and it was also pleasant to exchange a few jokes with them! Good appetizers, we tried the cod fillets. Exceptional first courses, gricia with artichokes and linguine in Romanesco cabbage cream. A delight indeed! All the traditional dishes are revisited and were much appreciated. Noteworthy wine list. We tried the tiramisu, which was also very good with a spectacular cream! Maybe I recommend making it a little more abundant 😉 The price was right for the quality of the food eaten. I can only add that I will be back as soon as possible! See you soon

90s style place that doesn't meet our taste. But the service and the food make you forget the 90s decor which we don't like, praise for the service, attentive, friendly and never pushy. Compliments

Great food and service at a very reasonable price given the quality

Oh my goodness what an amazing place. Got to have it on your list when you visit Rome. Most amazing pasta I’ve ever had, great bottle of wine for €20, best tiramisu I’ve ever had and then just such outstanding service. Definitely coming back asap! Fave dishes were the carbonara and the amatriciana!

We were recommended to go to this restaurant on our visit to Rome but we didn't think it was going to be so good. The prices for the quality are very reasonable and as for the pasta, it is the best we have tried on the entire trip. A special mention to Emiliano, a waiter from Buenos Aires who treated us with the greatest friendliness from the moment we walked through the door.

Excellent food, excellent service and very good value for money

We booked this restaurant for dinner because a colleague recommended it. It was wonderful - best service we have encountered so far in Italy, very nice setting and the food was memorable. The Panzanella tart was so simple and stunning., so was the roasted veal. Simple and so good. When the veal came I realised that I had forgotten to order wine. I was thinking I would be half way finished with my meal before the wine comes But the waiter brought it in 30 seconds - and such attention to service goes a Long way with me Good wine list at moderate prices

This restaurant was exceptional. We would recommend making a reservation well in advance, as they were having to turn people away. The service is excellent. Every dish that we ordered was delicious. The wine was excellent and very well chilled. The prices for a Michelin mentioned restaurant were extremely reasonable. I cannot express enough just how delicious this meal was. We had Alma as our waitress and she was delightful (but so was everyone else we interacted with at the restaurant). The portions are very generous and really the quality of the food cannot be faulted. A truly memorable evening.
