Experience to do at least once in a lifetime!

What an incredible experience! Immersed in the beauty of Borgo San Felice, this Michelin restaurant delivered a superb combination of elegant presentation with delicious flavors. Guided by Andrea, we picked some phenomenal dishes and of course, San Felice wines. All while sitting outside, close to a pool in the middle of Val D’Orcia… if perfection exists, it must be close to this experience! Thank you!

Beautiful grounds in a picture perfect Tuscan setting. The night we visited, there’s also a pianist playing lovely music to accompany the dinner. The dinner was superb with interesting layers of flavors executed well. The food was perfect from start to finish. It ends on a high note of some amazing desert sculptures with a story, that’s both delicious and beautiful.

Enchanting restaurant where everything is just right. The menu (1 Michelin star) is excellently coordinated, the wine list is huge and full of real treasures. The service is courteous and personal. Apart from the small weakness that we had to refill our own wine and water twice, there was nothing to complain about at the high level. The atmosphere is beautiful, just like the hotel where we were guests. Priced at the upper end for 1* (2 people around 650 EUR including drinks), but definitely recommended as an overall package - will come again.

Un pò fusion un pò no, un pò classico un pò no, un pò esclusivo un pò no, un pò innovativo un pò no...soprattutto ECCELLENTE. Grandissima attenzione ai particolari, accoglienza esemplare, gusti, sapori e sentori della Toscana senese magistralmente amalgamati con elementi tipici della cultura gastronomica dello Chef Quintero. Cantina superba. Menzione di merito, DOVEROSA, per lo satff di sala Maitre, Sommelier e Chef de Rang (ragazza di una professionalità superiore). Complimenti a tutti.

Le Poggio Rosso est un excellent restaurant étoilé (1 étoile) situé au sein du Borgo San Felice Resort, un hameau typique du Chianti qui a été transformé en hôtel de luxe, ce qui en soi est une très bonne idée. Certes le Resort est très beau, mais à notre goût trop beau en ce sens que le caractère trop beau et trop lisse du lieu en a grandement ôté le charme et l'authenticité au point de se croire dans un endroit complètement amorphe et artificiel. Quant au restaurant Poggio Rosso il est indéniable que le chef Juan Quintero maîtrise son sujet, qu'il mérite son étoile et que le menu de dégustation "Tracce Indelibile" de par sa finesse et ses mets raffinés ravit à merveille vos papilles gustatives. Par contre le prix de Euros 175.- du menu de même que le prix des vins sont à notre avis exagérés, surtout si on les compare par rapport à d'autres restaurants étoilés en Toscane. D'ailleurs en ce qui concerne la carte des vins, elle est certes impressionnante de par sa couverture mondiale mais étonnamment restreinte pour ce qui est des vins du Chianti qui regorge quand même de nombreuses pépites. Qui à part le touriste américain ou asiatique (présents en nombre tant dans le restaurant que dans l'hôtel) préfère commander un cru bordelais ou bourguignon dans une région viticole telle la Toscane? Quant à la salle à manger elle est à l'image du reste du Borgo...sans charme, sans vie, atmosphère très pesante, manque de luminosité. Quant au service c'était du jamais vu; au vu de notre avance d'une demi-heure, la serveuse en chef nous signale d'un ton réprobateur qu'il nous sera impossible de prendre l'apéro à notre table point barre. Je pose dès lors la question de savoir si on peut le prendre au bar, du coup on nous fait quitter le bâtiment du restaurant pour accéder à celui du bar dont la déco très mauvais goût nous a tout de suite interpellé. Le barman met 10 minutes à apparaître, met dix minutes à nous servir deux verres de vin blanc et n'est pas sûr s'il peut facturer nos deux verres de vin sur la facture du restaurant! Quant au service dans le restaurant et mis à part la présence désagréable de la serveuse en chef qui (pour cause) évitait mon regard de la soirée, il était assuré essentiellement et pourquoi pas par du personnel asiatique et africain parfaitement multilingues et avenants, mais malheureusement au comportement impersonnel v. robotisé ce qui était complètement en harmonie avec l'ambiance lourde de ce lieu étrange dont les clients semblaient tous être au septième ciel...ce qui n'était pas notre cas. Point de vue notation, je donne 3 sur 5 parce que nous honorons la qualité de notre menu et parce que tout le reste vaut max 1 sur 5.

An impeccable 5-star dinner. And my second experience in this restaurant. Last year our evening was perfect. This time too it was super. We chose a course with eight courses. I liked it for the authentic tastes and the presentation of the dishes. One of the important things is that there is a story. It's like reading a book. Each you pay for and a dish. There is a connection and there is not a dish that is out of logo. Compliments for location, wine list and staff.
