Pizzikotto In Castel maggiore

Vorrei dare di più per l’accoglienza dato che siamo arrivati in anticipo di un’ora e in tre invece di due persone e ci hanno fatto accomodare senza problemi, grazie mille! devo dire però che il fatto di aspettare per mezz’ora una pizza che, una volta che te la portano non è di tuo gusto, è un peccato…ho ordinato una alta regina, sono rimasta abbastanza delusa, condimento centellinato, un velo di pomodoro, una sola fogliolina di basilico al centro, l’impasto lo preferisco soffice, con un bel cornicione aerato che si scioglie in bocca e perché no, un po’ bruciacchiato…questo impasto non l’ho capito, poco cotto, pastoso e pesante…forse trova equilibrio nella versione sottile, gusto personale certo, ma questa pizza non ha soddisfatto le mie aspettative, non credo tornerò

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch at the beginning of the week. It is in a convenient position for those who have just left work or are shopping in the adjacent shopping centre. It was a Monday and at lunch time one of the 2 rooms was full with a clientele made up of workers, people who had finished shopping and mothers with children. The place is pleasing to the eye, the style is industrial with a homely note given by large amphorae used as lamps. The whole thing is pleasing to the eye. We opted for a single dish: chicken baked in foil. The dish consists of a portion of mixed rice and potatoes, carrots, onion and chicken inside the foil. The dish is an idea that could be a winning one but something is missing in the success of the dish in terms of flavor because the chicken breast is dry, stringy especially if accompanied by equally anonymous rice. So to make the dish more balanced, an accompanying sauce is missing which cannot be replaced by the oil that they bring to your table. We then had a plate of fried tortellini with grated pecorino which we liked a lot. Water to drink and we ended the meal with a very thirst-quenching mandarin sorbet. The two of us spent 39 euros and the only item on the receipt that I find really embarrassing is the cost of the cover charge/service to end up eating from the paper menu and without even a basket of bread. A shameful thing.

Always very good pizza with excellent service times, the only flaw is the management of the reservation... an uncomfortable Saturday with a 30 minute wait at the indicated time...😬

The place is also nice and clean with an industrial look with a container in the middle of the room, but order management is quite chaotic and the pizza is nothing special. We had lunch on Sunday, the place wasn't very full, even though there were 3 waitresses they got the order wrong so one of us ended up having lunch when the others finished eating, with a starter arriving at the end of the pizzas. Even the time management is not the best and, in fact, while waiting for consumption, 3 tables that arrived later passed us by. Apparently the flat pizza appears light, but it is bready and not very digestible, non-acid tomato, just the right amount of coverage.

Good pizza. Service a little slow for dessert.
