"Gentlemen, would you like something?"
It's strange to hear this invitation, especially with a Neapolitan accent, in front of a place called "Vecchio Caffè Cavour."
Gennarino, who with typical Neapolitan charm invited us in, is a great calling card for this charming establishment.
No sooner said than done, my wife and I found ourselves seated at a quiet table: the waiter continued his tradition of friendliness, suggesting some off-menu items, a good white wine (which was complimentary, by the way, making it even more appreciated), and explaining a few things like their homemade bread (delicious).
I had seafood risotto, and my wife had sea bass with potatoes: just the right amount of time for a preparation as long as the rice, but with excellent results.
My wife's fish was, in her opinion, perfect: perfectly cooked, and the accompanying potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, as they should be.
Traditional Neapolitan desserts and two excellent coffees rounded out a very enjoyable meal.
The final surprise was the price: while it's true that we only ate for one person (a first course for me and a second course for my wife), the portions were generous; in any case, the price of around €55 is absolutely reasonable.
We'd definitely visit again to try the other options, perhaps with a few friends to enjoy the hospitality of "your Gennarino," as our host repeatedly emphasized.
Oh, and there's also a pizzeria (not open at lunchtime), so we MUST make another visit ;-)

Vecchio Caffè Cavour... we stumbled upon it by chance, and from the name, you wouldn't expect "your Gennarino" to show up to greet you, complete with his signature hat!
Yes, there's very little of Cavour here; we're in the midst of the Bourbon kingdom!
Gennarino immediately whets your appetite by talking about "pulp'tiell," promising to amaze me, and he does so by serving us an exceptional paella and a textbook pasta with potatoes and provola...
The place is very welcoming, the attention to detail (just look at the cups!) and the sourcing of products demonstrate a love for the profession and are in keeping with the style of Gennarino and his staff, never intrusive but always present.
On the way out, the final discovery: a chef preparing "cuoppo" by frying it outdoors, something truly unheard of... and finally, the bill was absolutely fair.
Gennarino, you've won us over, we've made you one of our must-sees, also because of your natural Neapolitan charm...what can I do, I love Naples!

My wife and I went there for lunch two Wednesdays ago. The pizza was very good, well cooked but not burned (I hate burned pizzas). Chef Gennarì's seafood paccheri were excellent as always. The staff and owner were very kind. Highly recommended.

A lovely restaurant in the historic center of Chivasso. Spacious outdoor seating. Friendly and courteous staff. Excellent pizza and desserts. Next time we'll try the fish, as chef Gennarino recommended. Definitely worth a try, you won't be disappointed. Plus, the atmosphere is very welcoming.

The best pizzeria in Chivasso, super efficient staff, nothing is left to chance, fantastic atmosphere, reasonable prices for exceptional food quality!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, both for the pizza and especially the fish. Thanks Francesco, you are the best!!!
