According to legend, this is where the Margherita pizza was born: the Brandi pizzeria boasts the honor of having invented this iconic combination of tomato, mozzarella and basil in 1889, in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy. The Margherita here is truly excellent: the dough is soft but with the right crust, the ingredients are fresh and well-balanced. You can feel the tradition in every bite. The only small flaw: the internal room is a bit spartan and less cared for than the outside and the historical atmosphere that you would expect. A detail that does not ruin the experience of tasting a pizza that is a piece of Neapolitan history. Recommended for those who want to taste a piece of legend!

The pizzas are good. Perhaps not the greatest in Naples, but you come here for the history. The server was perfunctory. Yes, it's busy, but there was not much joy shown by the staff upstairs. Great value for money. They could charge a lot more and people would still come.

What can I say? The pizzeria where the mother of all pizzas (the margarita) was invented. It's a great idea to eat there when visiting Naples. The pizzas are all made with fresh ingredients, albeit a bit sparsely topped. Highly recommended. We waited a short time for a table after calling ahead. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

15/12/2024: Sono due volte che vengo a Napoli e per la pizza fritta ai Quartieri Spagnoli scelgo sempre Gennaro. Abbiamo preso la classica con pomodoro e mozzarella € 4,00 e un’altra con aggiunta di prosciutto cotto € 4,00. Sono troppo buone

26/05/2025: A really excellent pizza for my standards, I perceived all the flavors, really tasty and light, you can feel that the raw material used for the food is really good. The staff is really helpful, kind and friendly. The place is very welcoming and guarantees you excellent tranquility. I will probably return, excellent experience.
