If you want a good loaded appetizer and a lot of kindness, Osteria del Borgo is the right place. We went on Friday, the place was empty to my regret and we were served without waiting. We took a medium cutting board, highly recommended, a baked cockerel with potatoes and pici cacio e pepe. For dessert I recommend the super light and fresh lemon cream cake. In short, we will definitely return!!

Finally a real osteria, beautiful, lively, friendly and the dishes are good just like an osteria. Every time we go to Lucca on the weekend it is a fixed stop.

Welcoming place, kind and friendly staff, punctual and fast service. Since there were many of us we had the opportunity to taste different dishes: pici cacio e pepe, risotto Nerone, ravioli and tagliata di manzo with potatoes. All excellent products. Ditto for the desserts. Acceptable house wine. Only point: the average price per person that is indicated (30 euros) is definitely underestimated, for a complete service (appetizer, first course, second course and dessert) you need to count on 45/50 euros.

Very good food. Service a bit over the top...the waiters are something else. Prices: a plate of tortelli lucchesi...14 euros! Half a liter of house wine...7 euros! No comment! Booked with THE FORK

Excellent dinner, when we arrived in Lucca we chose almost at random and I must say that we ended up really well. Very good tortelli lucchesi, mixed appetizers of cold cuts without croutons, really good and plentiful, clean place and polite staff, especially Sharon, a LEGEND

Appena fuori dalle mura, nel caratteristico Borgo Giannotti, è un buon ristorante con prezzi onesti. Abbiamo trascorso una piacevole serata e mangiato bene.

L'Osteria

30/06/2025: We went to visit the town of Barga, wonderful. We were 2 couples, one Roman and the other Florentine, near closing time, we ate very well, excellent welcome, good price. The ladies of the place were very kind and if we happen to be in those parts we will gladly stop. We highly recommend it. Thanks
13/06/2025: Traditional Tuscan cuisine. Friendly staff. One notable flaw: the toilet was not accessible.
