I was impressed by the quality of the dishes, both in terms of presentation and ingredients, and of course by the flavor. I was also very impressed by the professional and elegant service, and by the wine. Being a wine bar, there's a wide selection of excellent wines. And for those who like it, they can even saber! In conclusion, it's a restaurant worth trying, even if it means traveling two hours! Exceptional!

On the recommendation of a friend, we stopped for dinner at this lovely restaurant in the center of Policoro. The seafood cuisine is meticulously prepared, with dishes that blend traditional seafood and meat dishes (such as peppers stuffed with tuna and eggplant and cuttlefish parmigiana). The first courses are exquisite, followed by excellent second courses (I recommend the tuna and swordfish). A wide selection of wines. Attentive service. Recommended.

The restaurant was recommended to me by a local lady. As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, which contrasted sharply with the anonymous and barren exterior. The interior is furnished with older pieces, which nevertheless give it a homey, welcoming, and warm feel. The walls are lined with shelves filled with wine bottles. The table setting is simple and refined. The food was very good, beautifully presented... but I was disappointed not to be able to finish the dinner with a homemade dessert.

13/09/2025: A truly spectacular location, on the terrace of a small castle. (photo) Excellent food, from the fine Roman-style pizzas, perfectly cooked in a wood-fired oven and made with quality ingredients, to the excellent fish and meat. Tonight I had lemon tagliolini with delicious red shrimp tartare (photo) and a Neapolitan-style mussel soup with octopus, shrimp, and scampi with crostini, excellent. My son always orders the Fassona Beef Battita, beautiful and delicious! (photo) Beautiful place, both inside and out. The terrace has a breathtaking view of the surrounding villages. The wine list is also extensive and includes quality cellars. Really good prices for what you eat and drink. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for both a family outing and a romantic dinner.
24/08/2025: Beautiful location, good food, adequate pizza, small portions for the price. The service was informal and inattentive. Bread never arrived at our table. We struggled to get the waiters' attention, despite the fact that there was no confusion. The sliced ​​steak was good, but the potatoes almost never arrived, and we were served 4. The mixed grill had too much pork and was really small; luckily it was for my wife, I should have eaten 2. Pizza scaletta and biscottata.

Ristorante Bell'Agio

29/10/2025: This restaurant is underrated, so disregard the rating. The owner is a charming man who loves his work and is attentive to his guests. We chose several appetizers to sample: a tasting of olive oils (for enthusiasts or those new to olive oil), an excellent octopus salad, and a platter of local charcuterie. The main courses are varied and offer something for everyone. That day, they featured specialties with mushrooms from Matera and lamb tataki (a marvel!). The desserts are also excellent. But above all… the wine cellar! Housed in a former cistern in the city, the wine list is a veritable encyclopedia! Highly recommended.
