Pine&Apple In Firenze

Pine & Apple has superb food and is a quiet refuge from the crowded Florence Plaza scene. Air conditioning, serene music, lush decor, and calmness prevails. If you want to take a break from the madhouse, visit this place!

Here from Miami, ginger chicken was very good along with everything else we tried. Would recommend!

The place is tucked away in a large building with a small door leading into a little bar counter. But walked through the dramatic entrance and the elaborately designed interiors is a world away from the ubiquitous trattorias around the city. The food is very well prepared, and presented beautifully. Authentic dishes but served in artistic Italian style. Dumplings were very good but could have done with more filling. The wasabi mayo prawns were excellent - plump and nicely flavoured. I particularly enjoyed the Pine&Apple Spicy Chicken. The Tofu and Bean Sprouts use dried tofu sheets cut into strips (not the fresh, white tofu curd), and may have been a little salty, but was otherwise quite delicious. There were many other dishes we’d have liked to try but as three relatively small eaters, our three mains and two starters with sides of fried rice and steamed rice were more than enough.

The place looks nice, but personally I didn’t like the interior — it feels quite dark and a bit cramped, and not very suitable for bringing children. The food is decent, and the service is okay. The location is great, right on a street lined with luxury brand stores.
