We received a recommendation to have dinner at Pietro Valentini and we were not disappointed. When we walked in the door and Simona was welcoming and made us feel right at home. The restaurant is quaint with incredible food. We were in Rome for 10 days and this was our favorite restaurant for dinner. The atmosphere, food, wine and experience are all a 10 and if you are in Rome, you need come here for dinner.

This was an excellent experience. The best pasta I’ve ever had in my life and the best Roman food during my visit to Rome. Everything was made to perfection, service was great. This restaurant and dining experience will be something I’ll remember forever.

We ate here following the recommendations we read and were very disappointed. The seating is very crowded and the food was tasteless and lacking seasoning. The dishes were not meticulously prepared and not served nicely and there was a feeling of indifference. The restaurant is expensive and completely not worth the price.

I loved everything about this historic trattoria located in the historic center. You're transported back 50 years! Now run by the son and his wife, they've managed to maintain the same charm. The quality of the food is excellent, and the portions are gigantic! They also have a good wine selection. The menu is classic Roman fare, but their specialty is porcini mushrooms.

18/10/2025: A small, authentic trattoria with a family atmosphere and authentic cuisine. The cacio e pepe is spectacular, but the other dishes are delicious too. A+++.
14/10/2025: This is a true Roman osteria, like few others. A small restaurant in Garbatella with 5-6 tables and an outdoor area with another 4, but the cuisine is impressive, thanks to the owner's love and dedication to tradition. The menu is simple and a distillation of Roman cuisine. The price point is simple: €10 for first courses and €11 for second courses, but the ingredients and the care taken in preparing it are top-quality. We had a truly outstanding cacio e pepe, perfectly cooked tonnarelli, and a textbook sauce. For our main course, we had Roman-style tripe with a side of pan-fried chicory; the tripe was even better than the tripe made by my wife's grandmother, who is also Roman. To finish, we had cookies baked by the owner's grandmother. We left happy to have taken a little trip down memory lane of Rome, and we're sure we'll be back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

10/01/2026: First time here. The food is average, though nothing groundbreaking. A bit pretentious, and the prices are high for what you get. Friendly service, quiet atmosphere.
10/01/2026: An absolute authentic, local gem. Food was wonderful - particularly the meat dishes we had (duck and roast beef) and the tiramisu. Service was very attentive and friendly. A standout meal during a several weeks-long visit to Italy
