Roman cuisine, with a modern twist. Finally, a place where you can eat authentic Roman food, not the usual tourist fare. Definitely worth a try and a return visit. Excellent service in a simple but clean space. Book and try it.

Piatto Romano was my favorite restaurant during our one week stay in Rome. We ate at two 1 Michelin restaurants in Rome but found that we enjoyed our meal at Piatto Romano even better. The food is the star here, quite traditionally and simply prepared but the flavors were great. The offal and oxtail dishes were so tender. The pastas were wonderful and perfectly al dente. Though a couple of the dishes were a tag on the greasy side, they were all very tasty. This wasn't tweezer food but just good cooking.
The staff were very welcoming and showed us great hospitality with their explanations and recommendations. The space is quite sparse but the atmosphere felt relaxed and homey. We very much enjoyed discovering and tasting the more traditional Roman food. Also discovered the Rooibos tea that I've never had before but loved after trying it. Overall, such a delightful dining experience. Highly recommend!

This was the best Italian food I've had. The room was full of Italians which is how you know you're in the right place.
Don't expect long English conversations with the wait staff, it is an Italian restaurant.
Get the Carbonara here! Best pasta I've ever had.

We dined there as a couple. We had their house recommended wine, it was very good. For food we had carbonara, lambchops, skirt steak, deep green side dishes. Lambchops was fatty but tasty. Skirt steak was very chewy, was hard to cut.

I'd heard great things about it, but unfortunately, aside from the unusual vegetable and herb appetizers, the wait was incredibly long, the portions were small, and the pasta was overcooked.
With a little more attention, it would be a really good place.
