I went with some friends to this little pastry shop in Florence. Besides the delicious brioches (the almond one was really good), we had three truly fantastic cappuccinos. I haven't had one this frothy in years. The entire staff made us feel at ease and provided excellent service. The place is small but truly meticulously cared for, a little gem that's been there for over 90 years.
Well done, and congratulations! We'll definitely be back.

This morning we went for breakfast at this little pastry shop in Florence. Besides finding excellent pastries and delicious coffee, we were welcomed and served very well by all the staff. When we return to Florence, we will definitely be happy to stop for breakfast at this little gem.

Like every Tuesday, I end up having breakfast there. But this time, after eating the third pastry, I have a revelation. Pasticceria Gualtieri isn't a pastry shop. It's a damned carnivorous plant.
You, naive explorer, think you came in to get a cream puff pastry and a bombolone. Two little things, just to start the day. Then something happens. With the first, you're happy. With the second, you think, "Well, I'll cheat today." With the third, you realize the problem isn't hunger. It's that your brain insists on continuing.
There's no point where you say, "I'm full." There's only the moment when you force yourself to stop. And you suffer. Because you know full well that the fourth pastry would have been a great idea. And the fifth, too. The only alternative is to be found a few hours later, immersed in a puddle of custard, deceased peacefully after eating the one hundred and seventy-sixth pastry.
It works exactly like a carnivorous plant. They offer you that divine nectar, and you think you've found paradise... but instead you're already screwed. Each bite brings you a centimeter closer to the center of the trap.
As if that weren't enough, the place is full of smiles, good music, and kind people. They completely lower your guard. You try to defend yourself by ordering coffee without sugar, without sweetener, desperately trying to convince yourself you're still a responsible person. It's useless. It's like showing up at a fire with a water pistol.
But the thing that really makes you angry is something else.
They're all very thin.
If at least they were all obviously overweight, a modicum of survival instinct would kick in. You'd say, "Maybe something's wrong here."
But no.
Everyone's lean, smiling, and in perfect shape, while you're already struggling with the button on your pants and dealing with your conscience to see if the cashier will judge you badly when you go to pay for four pastries without having brought a single friend.
Five stars. And a complaint for peddling happiness in the form of pastries.

Very good, with both vegan and non-vegan options. The place is a little crowded and small, but delicious!

If I could give them 6 stars I would! They are so professional with the speed of service, how nice they are and the quality of coffee, juices and pastries. We have tried almost everything here while staying in area! The pastries, cappuccino and orange juice all so delicious. Also when you do takeaway they wrap the items so beautifully like work of art- see photo! Make sure you try their different types of cornettos and savory sandwiches also. Perfect place for breakfast or brunch. Local and authentic. Please note you can grab seats outside with lovely patio or you can stand at bar inside- both have plenty of spots usually. A+.

One of my favorite bars in Florence. Great pastry and coffee. I love their olive oil cake and closer to lunch their focaccia with tomato. This place can get quite busy and there is not a ton of space to sit so keep that in mind.
