Can you travel to a small, non-touristy Tuscan town, far from the beaten track, and find a culinary delight that will long linger in your heart as a perfect combination of exquisite, exquisitely prepared dishes, exquisite wines (we had a bottle of Viogner from Cortona—it was wonderful!), a captivating and refined interior, and competent, friendly, and discreet service? Yes! Cavriglia has such a gem, and it's called Papposileno! We stumbled upon it by chance and left enchanted. We sampled the five-course tasting menu and were saddened that this extraordinary culinary journey was over. Even though it lasted, leisurely, for over two hours... The menu changes daily, depending on what delicious dishes chef Ada D'Amato managed to find, and her daughter, who serves guests, expertly explains the intricacies of flavors and textures. This isn't a place you'd want to drop in for a quick, hearty, inexpensive dinner with your kids, who mostly eat fries or chicken nuggets. Such customers are in for a disappointment. But if you're looking for a place to spend an unforgettable time with someone important to you, it's worth giving Papposileno a try. I haven't had such delicious food in a long time, and if it ever comes to Cavriglia again, I'll definitely be back!

My favorite restaurant in Italy! Whenever we visit my family, my husband and I treat ourselves in this hidden gem. Eating at Papposileno is not only a beautiful dinner but a real culinary experience. Every time, a beautiful journey through different tastes. I warmly recommend the tasting menu for a perfect experience. The service is the finest, taking you into the journey with great recommendations for wine pairing and explanation about the ingredients. Beautiful and cozy locations, with high attention to details. A must do, if you visit Cavriglia and surroundings. Thanks so much for another great evening !

A true gastronomic experience has a heart, a face, and a soul: at Papposileno, all this has a very specific name: Ada. Owner and chef, Ada is the driving force behind the restaurant, a woman of extraordinary passion and expertise who manages to convey her love for cuisine and the local area in every dish.
The atmosphere is refined without being cold: a sober, welcoming elegance, with attention to the smallest details. It's the kind of place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to fully enjoy every moment.
The staff is beyond qualified: not only impeccable in their service, but also exceptionally knowledgeable. They have a perfect knowledge of the products used in the cuisine, often local and always of the highest quality, and they know how to guide you with skill and passion through an incredible selection of wines. The cellar is, without exaggeration, monumental: rare labels, big names, and small excellences coexist harmoniously, offering a wine journey that will satisfy both connoisseurs and the curious.
Papposileno isn't just a restaurant: it's a memorable experience, thanks to Ada's vision and the human and professional qualities of the entire team. A place to return to, and one I highly recommend.

Excellent raw material and extremely good and beautiful dishes.
The service is always friendly and attentive. The place is simple, but well-kept and very clean. Every time we are in the area we come back specifically, because it is an exquisite guarantee.

I was at Papposileno and I must say that it was one of those dinners that remain in your heart. Each dish was a discovery, prepared with the freshest ingredients and surprising, but never forced, combinations. Every bite was an explosion of flavours, from the first to the last.
The wine they recommended to me was simply perfect, it enhanced each course without ever overpowering it. It is immediately clear that there is careful research behind every bottle.
The staff? Impeccable. Kind, helpful and always ready to give advice or tell the story of a dish or a wine, all with a sincere smile that makes you feel pampered.
The place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the kind that makes you want to stay and chat for a long time after dinner, with the last sip of wine in hand.
In short, Papposileno is not just a place to eat well: it is an experience to live and relive. I can't wait to go back!
