"Al Cavallino Rampante" is a typical street food business in the Catania area, very popular in its area. It is a place for customers of all ages which also has a small car park, designed to accommodate a few cars and various two-wheeled vehicles. After taking your number, five turns before your own, you will go to order at the grill counter, to choose what you want to eat. The possibility of choosing between soft dough and semolina loaf is offered and a good variety of choice between meat bases and cured meats available is presented; The choice of toppings for the sandwiches is also good, from the most classic to different types of mushrooms in oil, for example. The perceived quality was good during my dinner. Despite the excellent internal organisation, which speeds up times, however, the wait can become quite significant: in my case I waited about an hour before being served, but it is not a demerit of those behind the counter, but rather the consequence of a large crowd of people waiting to eat. The staff, professional and very friendly, do their best. A positive experience, one that can certainly be repeated and a safe choice for those who don't frequent this type of venue often.

20/12/2024: Good food in an elegant setting in Catania, service a little slow but overall very good experience
14/12/2024: My hotel referred me to this restaurant and I loved it! I had lunch there solo and then, went back for dinner the next night bringing some friends along. Both times I was made to feel welcomed. The food is fantastic and so fresh. The restaurant feels like a family neighborhood gem run with love and passion. The staff is exceptional and always smiling, "Come, sit down, join us!" Oh, how I miss it now that I am home in California!!!!

29/12/2024: Bello l’arredamento, offerta che spazia dagli hamburger alle pizze, dalle insalatone ai secondi piatti. Abbiamo mangiato due pizze, un hamburger e una polpetta. La pizza viene realizzata con impasto di cereali o di grani antichi, molto soffice, ben lievitata, davvero gustosa. Stessa cosa per quanto riguarda le polpette: carne di chianina saporita, morbida, servita su una base di cicoria saltata. Anche l’hamburger servito con provola ragusana non ha deluso. Ciliegina sulla torta il tiramisù, servito con caffettiera, crema di mascarpone e savoiardo, tutto da comporre al tavolo. Ho apprezzato molto anche il pane, tutt’altro che banale, anch’esso realizzato con impasto di cereali. Consiglio!
19/12/2024: Very nice place with a lot of character. The staff was not very attentive, the pizzas were refined but the result needs to be improved (often the pizzas were either burnt or undercooked, in some without salt) obviously the tastes on pizza are absolutely subjective and I do not deny that there are those who would like it, without considering that the "errors" mentioned are not necessarily the standard (but it was a giropizza for many people), they are still aesthetically well presented. All stuff that can be improved. I specify that I have not tried the sandwiches. I don't make any judgments about the staff because it could have been the fault of a bad evening, I just recommend being more flexible on requests.
