04/06/2026: Old cafe frequented by artists from past centuries. Worth a visit. A coffee can cost more than €10. In fact you pay like a museum ticket. Closed on Mondays. I had visited it before and I know it is worth it. It was closed for a work break.
20/05/2026: Stopping at Antico Caffè Greco was a sublime experience that I thoroughly enjoyed, a true blend of the timeless charm of history and the pleasure of refreshment. The location of this establishment is a true privilege for the traveler, as settling into the historic, plush rooms, literally steps from the monumental Piazza di Spagna, offers a timeless experience. Admiring the centuries-old paintings and art relics from such an exclusive location allows one to soak up the city's timeless atmosphere and cultural grandeur.
The setting suddenly evokes the splendor and elegance of the "Dolce Vita," offering a truly evocative refuge in the beating heart of Roman art. Despite the constant and impetuous influx of patrons from every corner of the globe, the staff—elegantly dressed in tails—proved diligent, courteous, and commendably efficient, delivering the food with impeccable promptness. As for food and drink, the offerings are a riot of authentic flavors: a fine espresso in a golden cup pairs magnificently with traditional artisanal macarons and a sumptuous torta della nonna (grandmother's cake) topped with pine nuts and custard, prepared according to ancient tradition to delight the palate with exquisite delicacy.
At dusk, when the soft lights of the period chandeliers create a magical atmosphere, the experience is sublimed by the combination of these noble delicacies with the grandeur of Roman craftsmanship. It's undeniable that the value of such fame and such a monumental setting requires a significantly higher-than-average outlay, but the excellent quality of the products, the impeccable attention to detail of the staff, and the uniqueness of the moment more than make up for any expense. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to experience a memorable moment in the presence of history.
