Caffe Greco In Roma

I once stopped by on my way back from Rome City Hall. The croissant was truly delicious.

A little too expensive for what me and my wife had. The icecream was not the best we had in Rome and it looks like the toilet is a public restroom for tourists, while the costumers have to wait.

A very upscale 5-star waiters cafe  100% cake service tasted very much like you are sitting in the palace 

Unfortunately, the place closed a few months ago; it was a landmark on Via dei Condotti. The prices are staggering, but it was worth a visit at least once in your life.

The Refuge of Geniuses and Time Entering Antico Caffè Greco is not just about getting an espresso; it's about stepping into a living chapter of Rome's history. As an art photographer, I lose myself in the dim light of its rooms, where worn mirrors and original paintings create an atmosphere from another era, one I seek to capture for my project. To the reader: this is a place for slow, deliberate pauses. You must learn to appreciate the silence within its red velvet walls, far from the tourist bustle, to grasp the true essence of the Eternal City. As an artist, I am fascinated by the classic rhythm of its waiters and the light that seems frozen in the 18th century. A setting of historical textures and absolute elegance that is a key element in my visual documentation of Rome. A sensory experience where every corner is a perfect frame.

I used to go there alone when I was younger, then with my mother, and then with my kids. It's my favorite cafe in Rome. It's a shame it's closed.
