Very overpriced for an average meal and experience. Great view out the window but the whole experience felt geared towards extracting as much out of the tourist as possible.

Buona esperienza a Montalcini, cucina creativa molto spinta con buon rispetto della cucina toscana con ottimo abbinamento dei vini famosi del territorio. Top la ribollita non bollita e il dolce tipico senese con una crema di ricciarelli. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo

Attracted by the glimpse of view that the customers had available during lunch, they welcomed us with kindness, the host outdid himself by giving us the best table. Pampered from start to finish, tasting refined and expertly prepared dishes. A beautiful experience in a fantastic context.

Piacevole serata passata in questo locale Ottimi piatti molto ricercati e cantina eccellente Siamo stati tutta la sera con il proprietario, Tommaso, un ragazzo giovane ma con tanta gentilezza e simpatia Consigliatissimo

I had already been in 2021. It has a window overlooking the Val d'Orcia that will leave you stunned (at lunch it was wonderful) the courses not too much choice but well prepared and excellently cooked! Welcoming and expert service. The only flaw is the slightly touristy price of the wines. production 27 table cost 70 a bit too much. ADVISED

28/01/2024: Il ristorante è molto carino e curato, sia negli spazi esterni che interni. Abbiamo mangiato due ottimi piatti di pici al ragù di manzo in bianco al tartufo (14 euro) e ci è stato portato a tavola dell'ottimo olio che abbiamo assaggiato sul pane, un gesto molto gradito. Con acqua coperto e caffè abbiamo speso 38 euro in 2. Proprietaria gentile, accogliente e grande amante dei gatti. 🙂
07/11/2023: Mai frequentato prima d'ora, stranamente perché siamo sempre alla ricerca di locali che possano cucinare " i pici " in maniera particolare. È un bel locale, con buon parcheggio, ma il motivo per il quale lo consiglio veramente è lo chef: gustare i pici nelle varie versioni è veramente un piacere. Lo fanno al tartufo oltre che i tradizionali all' aglione e quelli al ragù in maniera inarrivabile!!! Lo consiglio decisamente.

Ristorante Il Pievano

08/11/2023: As this was the only one star Michelin rated restaurant in the area we had high expectations. The restaurant is set in an old convent, turned into a luxury hotel. As expected the service and advise from the staff and sommelière are excellent, if a bit stiff. They have two different menus plus a blind menu with 10 surprise dishes at 160€. The wine accompaniment is 130€ per person. There is a lot of creativity in how the Chef creates his dishes. However, none of the various dishes were in the category of amazing, wow or excellent. The dishes look nice and tasted OK. But that’s about it. They also hurry you along a bit. You are still with one wine and they already pour the wine for the next dish that arrives within a minute. Wine accompaniment was a bad choice considering you pay so much money for just five small glasses of wine, plus a grappa. That comes out at 20+ € per glass. The wines served should be super Tuscan category, but the wines were way below that. I had checked one wine, the Sauvignon Blanc from Graf in Meran. Retail price is just 16€ per bottle. Just imagine what kind of wine you can buy today for €260 (wine accompaniment per person is 130) in a restaurant.
