had this recommended by our airbnb host, menu looked amazing and delicious so we decided to stop by here for dinner. we ordered their ravoli and fried fish! fried fish tasted bland and dry :( we sprinkled a lot of salt on it… ravoli was delish! we were seated inside their other restaurant by the steps, the ambience was nice. but because we were seated downstairs there were barely any servers / didn’t have attention when we needed - aka paying bill.

I was quite disappointed, my friend had a rotting raspberry in her food and my other friend just had a kind of fish stick with red cabbage, my friend had the beef tartare which was quite greasy and not very tasty, otherwise the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was also really nice.

Everything was excellent, the staff was really friendly, and they explained the dishes (which isn't a given given the relatively low price point). I'd go back! 🦆

The food quality was good, but the portions were smaller than average. I liked the tablecloths and the table itself, which were very elegant. I had the scallop and salmon cake and the lake fish caviar ravioli. The salt content was high. The prices were above average. It's on a side street with no view. I liked the local white wine.

Good food, good drinks, excellent service. Chocolate mousse is a must try dessert. Better to book a table before coming.

Fantastic food and wine. Nothing more to say. If you’re in Varenna and looking for a fantastic meal in a fantastic restaurant, then I would recommend check it out. It looks simple and unassuming from the street - but inside is amazing. We ate here tonight. The service was great. We shared the octopus starter - good sized serve. We then had the squid ink pasta and the duck. Both were great. The octopus and duck were my favourite.

Ristorante in pietra molto caratteristico e buon cibo, poche portate ma buone, giusto che sia così per avere un ottima qualità, servizio attento e disponibile… eravamo in 7 di cui 2 bambini piccoli, sono stati molto gentili.

11/07/2025: Avevo aspettative molto alte,avendo visto le foto dei piatti sul sito e visto i prezzi una volta seduti.devo dire la verità, niente di speciale. La cotoletta, bruciata dal lato "non visibile ".poi, me ne sono accorta verso la fine,che avevo il calice con la base spezzata. Ho gia mangiato meglio...
04/07/2025: We spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were cozy, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, ensuring a comfortable environment. The location is fantastic—just a few minutes’ walk from the city center, yet pleasantly quiet at night. What truly made our experience outstanding was the staff. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special mention goes to the young gentleman at reception—he is, without a doubt, one of the kindest people I have ever met, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism. The other receptionists, bartender, and restaurant staff were also exceptionally pleasant and attentive. Thanks to their warm hospitality, our stay was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for making us feel at home!
