Osteria Quatro Pass In Varenna

Prima volta in questo ristorante, selezionato per le recensioni positive. E’ stata una piacevole sorpresa, sia il locale molto famigliare, sia il cibo. Abbiamo preso una tartelletta ai funghi e un risotto al pesce persico e un ottico prosecco Franciacorta. Un po’ alto il conto ma ne vale la pena.

Excellent food. We ate the Risotto with Fish. Wonderful. Delicious tiramisu. Cool environment.

We sat upstairs and it was such a cool atmosphere with the stone! Food and wine was delicious!

Trip out of town to Varenna and we stopped for lunch in this little restaurant in the alleys of Varenna. The pappardelle is highly recommended, the mixed lake starter a little less so. Fantastic presentation of the food and moderate prices. Nice and clean environment. Friendly staff (not all though). All in all I recommend.

We love Great Lakes Yellow Perch. The same fish is in these mountain lakes, and it is a popular item on many menus. So, when we are in this region, we enjoy the lake fish. We each ordered the perch risotto. The risotto was perfectly prepared with just the right amount of crunch. The perch, on the other hand, was a bit too crispy for our taste, especially some of the smaller pieces. We followed that with the fried lake pike which we shared. This fish was so fresh and juicy we almost ordered a second one. Service was very good. Our server was attentive and outgoing. We felt the food and wine pricing was fair. The portions were not as generous as some of the other restaurants in the area. We were not sure how we felt about the room. One person’s cozy could be another person’s cramped.
