To appreciate this old-fashioned trattoria, you have to ignore the infernal road you have to walk to get there and the unadorned rooms with unsightly paintings on the walls. If you ignore these aspects, you'll be rewarded with simple, rustic yet well-cooked and plentiful food, friendly and efficient staff, a friendly atmosphere, and a splendid view. And last but not least, a 60-kg dog, delicious and playful.

I had been to this place on the hills of Castel San Pietro about 15 years ago. The food is always excellent, but the surprise was the final bill. The price doesn't justify the choice of location, which, alas, has lost its charm! It's become too "radical chic" and now "mainstream"!

Osteria Novella is still the best, even after so many years. They always manage to maintain the highest quality: tasty fresh pasta, spectacular meat, wonderful desserts... the staff is excellent. Many compliments to Novella's sons and daughters who have run this restaurant for so many years with passion and dedication. Highly recommended!!!

12/01/2026: 5 stars only for Piero the bartender The place is nice, but with him, it's a different story.
04/01/2026: Quiet at lunch when we went. Others came but it was a Sunday. We liked it but I wonder if more atmosphere in the weekday or evening. Food (pasta dishes) were very tasty.
