This is the perfect spot to get simple, uncomplicated, delicious local food in a lively, social environment. It is super fresh but comes quickly. Our stomachs thanked us for eating here a couple of times. The chickpea flatbread is incredible, as is the sea bream and chicken. Don’t be alarmed if there’s a line out the front door - it moves fast.

In this jazzy osteria you don’t have to choose between Coltrane or Miles (even though Coltrane is better 🤭) but you have plenty of delicious dishes to select from. Great food, atmosphere and service.

We spent a week in Sestri Levante trying several restaurants, but L’Osteria Mattana was by far the best. It has a very authentic atmosphere where tables are shared. The back room is especially full of life and locals eating out. The walls are filled with Photos of jazz musicians playing there in the winter. The service is nice and fast. Especially the owner is very friendly. The food is local and very delicious! You can try stuff like rabbit, octopus and sardines. All very yummy!

Found the restaurant by chance. Got a table right away in the back with air conditioning. Menu was a QR code. Service was quick and friendly. The farinata and grilled pollo were well-seasoned and delicious. Good value for money. Seating was a bit close together inside, but okay. Authentic.

Excellent dinner, impeccable service, and delicious food!
Dinner for two in the second room (the one with the convivial tables for more people). The service was excellent, and the staff was incredibly kind and cheerful, which more than makes up for the ambiance of this second room, which, in my opinion, was a bit cramped, dark, and windowless. Next time, I'll definitely ask to sit in the first room.
The menu is simple yet varied, with excellent ingredients: the grilled chicken was delicious, the farinata excellent, and the stuffed vegetables truly flavorful.
Although there was a bit of a line at the entrance, it went very smoothly. I'll definitely be back!
