Osteria Mangiando Mangiando In Firenze

We had dinner at this trattoria on a Saturday evening. The place is small and welcoming, and the staff is attentive and friendly. We split four Tuscan crostini, which were delicious, and then opted for two first courses: homemade gnocchi with Parmesan and saffron fondue, and pappardelle with wild boar. The wine was good, and the homemade bread, schiacciata, and savory breadsticks deserve a special mention.

Wonderful small restaurant outside if the tourist areas - an easy walk from the piazza liberta. Despite my Italian being just okay I enjoyed communicating with the staff and having fun and ordering two amazing pastas, and an amazing Florentine steak for dinner, including getting a wine recommendation for a Chianti Classico which i will be trying to track down in the states ! The first course of pastas were both incredible , especially my wife’s gnocchi which were pillow soft! For second course, The Florentine steak was huge and the staff gave us some direction on how to eat it slowly, with some olive oil, and how to enjoy! Highly recommended!

I'll start by saying that the quality of what we ate was well above the city average, and that certainly deserves recognition. However, it's absolutely not an osteria to charge €25.50 for—I swear, I'm not kidding—two bites of peposo. I found it utterly dishonest, I'm truly sorry to say. On the contrary, the first course was a decent portion, for a rather low price, considering the average for Florence. The service was rather anonymous and somewhat confusing. There was air conditioning, but it wasn't on, and it was very, very hot inside. Ultimately, €70 for an appetizer, a first course, a second course, a quarter of wine, and a liter of water seems excessive to me, considering the name "osteria." It wouldn't have been such an absurd price if the portion of peposo had been just a little larger. Two bites are truly a joke, even if they are delicious.

Mangiando Mangiando is now a must, whether for a quiet dinner with my husband or for business lunches. Everything is top-notch: fresh ingredients, carefully prepared and authentic dishes, excellent wine with excellent value. The service is impeccable: professional, attentive, and rich in true knowledge of Florentine and Tuscan cuisine. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, presented with passion and authenticity. It's a restaurant for everyone—welcoming and accessible—but at the same time, it's a true Florentine restaurant, where Florentines don't feel like guests, but at home. An authentic, sincere place. Highly recommended!

It may be a little pricey, but it's really delicious. First of all, the bread is amazing. It was fresh and warm, and the grissini in particular was amazing. I ordered liver crostini and carretiera, and both were simple but carefully made and delicious. In previous trips to Italy, I sometimes thought, "Are they just making it haphazardly?" at restaurants, but this is different. It wasn't that busy and the service was good. I came here two days in a row and ordered tagliata, which was also amazing. The meat was rare but fragrant on the outside and warm inside, and cooked to perfection. The simple seasoning of olive oil and salt was excellent. The accompanying vegetables were also carefully prepared, with the seeds of the cherry tomatoes carefully removed.

This is by far the best restaurant we visited in our four days in Florence. Everything here has been carefully considered: fantastic food, great service, a small, intimate setting, and wonderfully peaceful! The air conditioning completes the experience. Just outside the city center, this is a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

We came across this place by chance during the annual Didacta event and given the high level of appreciation, we dined here for 3 consecutive nights. The very kind owner welcomed us with open arms, explained the menu of dishes and wines and always recommended the best. They have a list of excellent niche wines, the pastas are rigorously handmade and the sauces and ragùs cooked to perfection. On the last night we treated ourselves to a 1 kg 6 Chianina steak shared by three people, delicious to say the least. Another thing that I personally noticed and that I rarely find in other restaurants, was the attention to small things, such as, for example, the hot plate for each course before being served, the hand moisturizing cream in the bathroom and other small attentions that in my opinion are very important. I will recommend to everyone who visits Florence to go to this excellent osteria at least for one meal. Thank you
