Bella location rustica ma non troppo, non facile da trovare in quanto non ci si passa per caso dev’è sita ma vale la pena cercarla. Personale accogliente e professionale che sa indicarti le giuste pietanze. Le materie prima, indubbiamente fresche, sono ben lavorate dalla cucina che produce delle ottime esperienze. Nel complesso un bel posto dove si si sta bene e si spende moderatamente poco. Bravi.

Good starter, good first courses even with some mix-ups with the kitchen, mediocre second courses, unripe fruit, good desserts. Price to be reviewed.

The restaurant (it calls itself Osteria) is located slightly off the road between Andria and Castel del Monte. But it's easy to find with Google Maps. It is a restored farmhouse, pretty rustic and very cozy. What we least expect from an “Osteria”: the service staff will serve you in black and white “livery” with a long black apron. And extremely attentive and courteous. Top! We ordered the house antipasti as a starter, a portion that we shared between the two of us. Finally we wanted to eat a main course. There were products from the region (cheese, sausage, ham, etc.). The pumpkin tart is very tasty! Focaccia, fantastic country white bread and the local taralli (ring-shaped savory pastries with fennel seeds) were also served. For the main course we each ordered a Secondo Piatto. We wouldn't have managed two additional courses for lunch when the outside temperature was 40 degrees (oh yes: the dining room was of course air-conditioned). My wife ate lamb chops with a side salad: a huge portion of meat that I actually had to help with. The chops were fantastically tender. Highly recommended! I ate Involtini in the regional style, which are small roulades filled with minced meat, cheese and spices. And too large a portion of baked potatoes. Too bad for the supplement. But I was fed up. For dessert we each ordered a cassata and the obligatory café. The cassata is a cake with ricotta filling and candied fruits. What can I say: super tasty! We accompanied the meal with ice-cold sparkling water and a bottle of tasty, dry Rosato wine (the house wine) from the area. Summary in brief: we were completely satisfied with the location, the service, the food and the pricing. We paid 40 euros per person. There's nothing to complain about. So if you're on vacation in Puglia and visit Castel del Monte, definitely eat here!

Locale in stile rustico con varie e ampie sale, vicino a Castel del Monte. Il servizio va lodato, perché nonostante l'osteria a pranzo fosse tutta piena è stato veloce e preciso. Vanta una cucina genuina, con materie prime di qualità, ma senza particolari pretese e una carta di vini completa. L'antipasto con i prodotti della Murgia (formaggi, salumi e verdure, accompagnate da salse di cipolla caramellata e sedano) era ben articolato e vario, non troppo abbondante. L'entrecote e la grigliata mista buone, forse la cottura per alcune tipologie di carne (bombette) non è stata ottimale. Consiglio il menù degustazione per chi vuol apprezzare anche l'assaggio dei primi e i dolci. I prezzo del menu degustazione (50 euro) è conveniente rispetto alla quantità offerta e considerando che è compreso di acqua, vino, caffè e distillati finali.
