Very tasty and plentiful, although the pasta wasn't fresh.

The food at this osteria is excellent. The pasta with sardines and fennel is delicious, as is the mixed fried fish. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and courteous. It's a family-run establishment.

It's a simple place, a little vintage, a little dated, but absolutely welcoming. There's plenty of seating, and a wide selection of dishes from the menu and the special of the day.

Osteria Lo Bianco at Via Belgio 41 continues the historic tradition of the namesake Palermo restaurant, founded in 1931. It stands out for its offerings that combine traditional Sicilian cuisine with a wide selection of pizzas, while maintaining a casual and welcoming atmosphere.
- The Gastronomic Experience
The menu celebrates the authentic flavors of popular tradition. Among our favorite dishes are:
• Typical Appetizers: Classics such as panelle and croquettes, eggplant caponata, and musso salad are always present.
• First Courses: Pasta with sardines and pasta with anchovies are the cornerstones of the cuisine, along with baked anelletti, prepared according to historic recipes.
• Second Courses: Sicilian-style involtini are very popular, and for those who prefer more authentic flavors, tripe or boiled meat.
• Pizzeria: Unlike the historic location, pizza plays a central role here, with light dough and toppings that recall local ingredients.
- Atmosphere and Service
The restaurant offers a cozy and casual atmosphere, ideal for both business lunches and dinners with family or friends. The style recalls that of old trattorias, but with a more modern and spacious feel.
• Service: The staff is friendly and approachable, in keeping with the restaurant's philosophy of making guests feel at home.
• Accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible (entrance and seating) and offers both free and paid parking nearby.
Hours: Open daily from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM and from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM
In short, it's the ideal place if you're looking for traditional cuisine in a residential area of Palermo, without sacrificing the convenience of a modern restaurant.

The value for money is truly excellent, but there are some things that could be improved. The service was a bit lacking: the staff seemed inattentive. For example, if you serve a dish with sauce (like a soufflé or stew), it would be helpful to serve it with a spoon, not just a fork.
The hot mixed fries seemed handmade, therefore of good quality, but unfortunately, there were too many of them and they were probably left in colder oil for too long: they cooled down and were soft and greasy, not as crispy as expected.
Despite the restaurant being very large, they didn't accept our reservation for Saturday night, at the last minute.
Some tables had double shifts, and the place was really crowded. Luckily, the owner intervened and found a solution after a bit of a wait.
Overall, the experience was positive, but with a few tweaks to the service and organization, it could be significantly improved.
Excellent Sicilian trattoria in Palermo, home-made food, memories of grandma.
