I would have given the food 5 stars, because the wild boar was cooked to perfection and was delicious. However, I also ordered the beef steak, asked for it to be medium rare, and it arrived raw. I only ate a few bites and left most of it there. Since it was a business lunch, I didn't have time to have it remade. I mentioned the inconvenience when paying, as if I hadn't said anything, and paid for everything, even the uneaten portion. I will definitely be returning for the wild boar, because, as I wrote, it's excellent, but, to my taste, other meats aren't.

We went to Osteria La Nuova Dispensa in Alberese and had a very interesting experience. We started with an appetizer of delicious wild boar cold cuts and mixed crostini with excellent toppings (the only shame was the bread was a bit dry). The first and second courses were very good; the pappardelle with wild boar was tasty, and the wild boar cacciatore was cooked to perfection. The fillet with truffle was exceptional, tender and well-seasoned!!! The baked potatoes are perhaps the only thing that could be improved, but the finish confirmed the hospitality of the place... coffee and liquor on the house were a very welcome touch. The atmosphere was friendly and courteous.

Greeted by a mouthwatering aroma and the owner's exquisite courtesy, preceded by a plate of Tuscan crostini, we ate a fantastic acquacotta, in true Maremma tradition; nothing else, except some fabulous cantuccini, to fill us up. Very fair price. Not to be missed if in the area.

Good food, good appetizer, but the Tuscan crostini were dry, and the first course, truffle pici, was tasteless and all you could taste was the cooking water, so we didn't eat it. A good thing they didn't charge for it. The second course was the peppery one, and the meat was nice and tender. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

18/04/2026: A great end to the evening! There were two of us and we arrived just after 10:30 PM. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were delicious and interesting. Highly recommended!
06/04/2026: We visited this restaurant yesterday and had a truly positive experience. The owners were extremely kind and knowledgeable, but what struck us most was their genuine passion for their work: it shines through in every detail, from the service to the descriptions of the dishes. The menu is simple, with just a few options, but carefully curated. Each dish is unique, refined, and unlike anything else you'll find elsewhere. There's a strong identity and a commitment to quality ingredients. A distinctive feature is their artisanal amaro, called "Amargo," which we also purchased to take home. It's inspired by the history of the Spanish occupation, a detail that adds character and depth to the experience. The quality-price ratio is absolutely right, in line with what's on offer. What we most enjoyed, however, is the atmosphere: we felt welcomed and at home. It's a place you'll gladly return to, not just for the food, but for the humanity that accompanies it.

Agriturismo il Portico

03/05/2026: We went to the Il Portico farmhouse in Capalbio for lunch with six friends. The restaurant is well-presented, with the classic country farmhouse feel: a beautiful garden with a pool and both indoor and outdoor spaces. The atmosphere is pleasant, comfortable, and spacious. The food was good, well-cooked, and of high quality, with a decent house red wine and an overall good value. The big problem, however, was the service: the first courses didn't arrive together. Four tortelli with Chianina beef ragù were served promptly, while the pappardella with wild boar and the pici with artichokes and pancetta arrived about 20 minutes later. The result: we all ate out of sync, which was definitely annoying and unacceptable for a group lunch. Honestly, it's unclear what happened in the kitchen, but such a disservice completely ruins the experience. Good food, but the organization needs revising. I don't think I'll be back.
02/05/2026: We were there recently... very good food, good service, a 4 for the hospitality... smile! Perhaps the prices are medium/high for some dishes; in the end, a plate of prosciutto with five fried pizza balls cost €12, a bit steep! You could do better!
