I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this restaurant was so good that I wanted to leave a few words. I love fish and seafood and it was by far the best restaurant of the island (if not the best one I have ever been). I was surprised because the location is not directly at the sea and in a very small town, on the first floor above a bar, but the quality of the food and the service was just perfect. The chef proposed different dishes depending on the day and our taste and hunger, without pushing anything, asking after each dish if we wanted something else. The prices were totally fine and we returned the next day to try out more of this excellent cuisine. Fully recommended for anyone passing by the region/Barumini area!

Sometimes the most special places hide behind an ordinary entrance. So, after a short walk from my B&B, I arrived at the front door of Osteria La Forchetta: seemingly anonymous, yet ready to reveal a world of unforgettable aromas, smiles, and flavors. Two flights of stairs and I was catapulted into an environment that smells of home. Thanks to the dishes sizzling in the kitchen and the staff, warm and attentive, like a family welcoming you with open arms. I trusted the chef completely, and it was a success: octopus carpaccio with radicchio, seared tuna with sesame seeds, shrimp with fennel, and calamari, each with its own accompanying cream. A seafood journey with every bite. I continued with a crispy and light fried calamari and shrimp, accompanied by a crispy house white wine. The experience was so pleasant that I returned for dinner. This time, I was won over by the homemade fish ravioli with calamari sauce and a filleted sea bream atop a velvety potato cream. The bill? A pleasant surprise: very fair, especially considering the excellent quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail. I recommend La Forchetta to anyone who loves good food and appreciates the courage to bring gastronomic excellence to an area struggling with depopulation. If you're passing through the beautiful Marmilla, don't miss this stop: it will remain in your heart.

Fish at Mandas? I never would have believed it! From appetizer to dessert, everything was truly delicious and unique. Kudos to the entire staff.

Dopo aver lasciato una meravigliosa location turistica a Gergei, ci siamo fermati per pranzo in questa osteria. Siamo stati accolti con una cordialità non sempre facile da trovare nella ristorazione odierna. Il cameriere ci ha spiegato la formula del locale, proponendoci un giro di antipasti per iniziare. Che dire? Antipasti di mare eccezionali e originali con prodotti freschi e locali. Già soddisfatti da tutte le portate abbiamo però preso un primo in condivisione ossia ravioli di rana pescatrice, fatti in casa, con tartufo di Laconi. Ottimi e delicati. Per finire un sorbetto e un buonissimo semifreddo al torrone. Il tutto è stato accompagnato da un ottimo vino rosso locale. Abbiamo speso circa 43,00€ a testa. Il giro antipasti è costato 22,00€ a persona. Rinnovo pubblicamente i complimenti fatti di persona. Torneremo sicuramente quando saremo nei paraggi.
