We stayed in Gergei for a few days on our trip to Sardinia and stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant in Mandas by chance. It's somewhat inconspicuous, on the first floor; you have to go through the back courtyard to get up the stairs. When we arrived, we immediately felt at home, as we were given a very warm welcome. That evening, the restaurant was almost exclusively full of locals. We first studied the menu until our waiter, Luca, said he would simply bring us a few appetizers and then pasta for the main course. We were very excited! What can we say? The food was outstanding, authentic, and truly Sardinian. From the fish, mussels, pasta, and dessert, everything was simply perfect. We were repeatedly asked if everything was okay and tasted good; even the chef visited our table several times. Many thanks to Luca for the fantastic evening. We went back for dinner the very next day to celebrate my wife's birthday. The crowning glory was all the guests on the terrace singing "Happy Birthday" in Italian as dessert arrived with a lit candle. Thank you very much

A place that will win you over! ⭐️ Osteria La Forchetta in Mandas is a family-run restaurant where they always welcome you with a smile and make you feel right at home. Their dishes are carefully prepared, delicious, and rich in flavor. The monkfish ravioli with truffle butter are among the best first courses I've ever eaten! 🍽️

We never expected to dine so well in this still relatively authentic region of Sardinia. We were surprised by the chef's delights and were served mouthwatering dishes with all sorts of fish. Nowhere else did we eat better than at Osteria La Forchetta! Also not unimportant: the very friendly staff. This is highly recommended if you're staying in or near Mandas!

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this restaurant was so good that I wanted to leave a few words. I love fish and seafood and it was by far the best restaurant of the island (if not the best one I have ever been). I was surprised because the location is not directly at the sea and in a very small town, on the first floor above a bar, but the quality of the food and the service was just perfect. The chef proposed different dishes depending on the day and our taste and hunger, without pushing anything, asking after each dish if we wanted something else. The prices were totally fine and we returned the next day to try out more of this excellent cuisine. Fully recommended for anyone passing by the region/Barumini area!

Piacevole sorpresa, mi sono fermata per un pasto veloce pensando di mangiare un piatto caldo. Ottima accoglienza, buoni consigli e piatti freschissimi di pesce cucinati divinamente. La gentilezza e la cortesia è di casa ed inoltre sono attenti al cliente. Consiglio gli antipasti misti di pesce, per niente scontati e ben presentati. Non ho assaggiato la fregola che ho scoperto essere come da tradizione molto umida a cucchiaio... un vero peccato, ci voleva tempo ed ero di fretta, mi sono rifatta con spaghetti alle arselle, ottimi, ma la prossima volta non mancherò.

Dopo aver lasciato una meravigliosa location turistica a Gergei, ci siamo fermati per pranzo in questa osteria. Siamo stati accolti con una cordialità non sempre facile da trovare nella ristorazione odierna. Il cameriere ci ha spiegato la formula del locale, proponendoci un giro di antipasti per iniziare. Che dire? Antipasti di mare eccezionali e originali con prodotti freschi e locali. Già soddisfatti da tutte le portate abbiamo però preso un primo in condivisione ossia ravioli di rana pescatrice, fatti in casa, con tartufo di Laconi. Ottimi e delicati. Per finire un sorbetto e un buonissimo semifreddo al torrone. Il tutto è stato accompagnato da un ottimo vino rosso locale. Abbiamo speso circa 43,00€ a testa. Il giro antipasti è costato 22,00€ a persona. Rinnovo pubblicamente i complimenti fatti di persona. Torneremo sicuramente quando saremo nei paraggi.
