A very nice and welcoming place. The staff is very kind and friendly. We've been here several times and have always had truly delicious food (I recommend the apple fritters with ice cream). Everything was excellent, compliments to the kitchen. They also have a summer terrace for motorcyclists and tourists.

This is a street-facing restaurant. A very down-to-earth place, frequented by motorcyclists and passersby. The place almost overlooks the river, and all around is a succession of rolling green hills. I believe it's family-run... with a certain casualness, let's say, in the management. I'm afraid the photos of the food are prettier than the quality of the dishes. We found the meat very tender, and the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms was acceptable for the price we paid. Overall, it's okay, but I don't think I'll be back.

Caffè Il Cerino

08/04/2026: When I stopped at Caffè Il Cerino for a coffee/breakfast break, it was a very neighborhood café experience, with its positives but also some obvious drawbacks. The first thing that struck me was its strategic location in the center, near Santa Maria Novella and perfect for a quick stop while walking around Florence. It's one of those cafés where you can pop in for an espresso or a brioche without having to wander too far. Once inside, the atmosphere is simple and unpretentious: it's not elegant or trendy, but it works well for the main purpose—coffee, breakfast, or a quick snack. The coffee and pastries are average: I tried a cappuccino and a croissant, and while they weren't memorable, they were sufficient and satisfying for a short stop. The focaccias and sandwiches here are often mentioned as excellent quick snacks, ideal if you're in a hurry and want something tasty but simple. As for service, experiences seem to vary: some people describe it as warm and friendly, while other more recent reviews describe the staff as aloof or unhelpful. Personally, I've noticed a slightly "off-the-beaten-path" attitude in some situations, but nothing completely off-putting. Another important thing to know is that prices in Florence's historic center can be higher than advertised—especially if you sit at a table rather than at the counter (a typical situation in many Italian bars). In summary: Caffè Il Cerino is a practical and convenient place for a quick stop in the heart of Florence, perfect for breakfast or a snack on the go. Don't expect a gourmet coffee shop experience, but for an espresso, a croissant, or a quick sandwich, it works well—with some ups and downs in service and prices that are a bit like those in the city center. It's a classic, simple bar, but useful when you're out and about.
01/12/2025: Only one bartender was hospitable and friendly; the rest of the staff was unfriendly and unwelcoming. The bathroom had no paper towels to dry your hands (an important detail in the dead of winter).
