Osteria Il Grattacielo In Siena

Epiphany in Siena, we stop for a quick lunch in this tavern. We found very kind staff, a quite characteristic place with a few seats inside and two tables outside which will certainly become more in the summer. Quick service, friendly and nice. Unfortunately, it is not possible to let dogs in as the place is very small and I understand management could be complicated. Honest figure also for the menu they have, and the quality of the food, overall not bad.

Very good food, great service and excellent value for money. The place is simple and traditional. I recommend!

This was one of our favorite “finds” on our trip. It’s an honest-to-God Osteria, which we love. A place where the cooks only make a few things a day and you select from the house specials. The day we went they featured an amazing lentil soup and I had a wonderful pasta con calcio e pepe. (The classic Italian staple.) My wife had the carbonara and everything was fantastic, including the service and house wines. Our favorite part of this meal was how it was both fun and delicious. I recommend reservations, since it’s pretty small. We went right at opening and they cordially fit us in, but had we waited an hour or so, it would have been a different story. Some locals who were waiting with us for it to open, said it was their favorite place and we sure found out why. Please give it a try and enjoy!

A full-blown tavern, small, cozy atmosphere, a full-blown novel atmosphere. We ate very well, the owners are fantastic and very nice... typical Sienese cuisine but above all very good Highly recommended..... To return

We were here for lunch at 2. I'll start with the positives first: 1) pleasant and helpful service, 2) the restaurant is in the city center and very easily accessible, 3) relatively good wine from local production, and now the negatives: 1) rather average to below average food, 2) the prices of meals are relatively high, 3) the environment is cramped, shabby, with "smells" from the kitchen, damp, stuffy, 4) you are sitting "almost on the toilet" at one table - that really surprised me. In our country, hygienists would immediately close such a restaurant.

In the heart of Siena, a post left from the 70s feels like entering a grandmother's house... and we know how grandmothers ate... Said and done, here too, in all its rusticity, the goodness of Sienese dishes explodes Don't miss it if you want excellent quality and price
