A truly welcoming traditional osteria, conveniently located just steps from Castelvecchio, in the heart of Verona.
We went for dinner after a late lunch, so we decided to order just three different first courses, just to sample them.
We chose:
pappardelle with duck ragù, cod tortelli, and
tagliolini with rabbit offal.
A perfect choice: authentic dishes, well-cooked, and generous portions.
A truly positive note also goes to the staff, who were extremely kind and professional: at checkout, without even asking, they gave us a discount, a gesture we greatly appreciated.
We highly recommend this osteria, especially if you're looking for authentic Veronese cuisine in a central location.

Excellent.
We were really hesitant about our first course, so we decided to have the Amorone risotto (a dream) and share another first course, cod ravioli. Both were exceptional. The service was fantastic. Everyone was super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuine. The wine by the glass was excellent.
When we return to Verona, we'll definitely be back. Recommended!

The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly, but the meal was definitely underwhelming. I’m not sure why the food is getting such good reviews (the bread was inedible).

Il Ciottolo has everything a welcoming osteria needs: a casual yet refined atmosphere, exquisite dishes, excellent wine, and attentive, friendly service!

Excellent rating for an elegant restaurant with a traditional menu and meticulous attention to detail. What struck me most was the owner's warm welcome and the staff's professionalism, both of whom always offered a smile and kindness. The menu offers the best of local cuisine, with refined attention to the quality of the ingredients and the presentation. Families with children are also catered for, with a changing table in the restroom. I'll leave the surprise of the first moment to future diners, but I'll start by saying that every piece of furniture has its own story.

Welcoming place and extremely friendly staff. We were passing through and it was a wonderful discovery. Delicious dishes with home-style flavors, with evident attention to detail. The tortelli with Amarone reduction were a delight. The waiters also offered excellent wine pairing suggestions. Everything was perfect!
