Osteria Dogana Vecia In Verona

Very nice typical osteria away from tourists with great food. Limited menu which is completely normal for this type of establishment.

I was passing through Verona and was looking for a place to have a quiet lunch, perhaps something traditional. My Google Maps search found Osteria Dogana Vecia, which immediately inspired me, so I decided to give it a try. I showed up without a reservation and, fortunately, found a table. The menu doesn't offer a wide variety of dishes, but the selection is "traditional." I decide to order the ricotta gnocchi with truffle cream, which turns out to be soft, tasty, and satisfying. I'm hungry, and since it looks like a long day, I also dive into the second course of the chicken alla scaligera. Another pleasant surprise that I'm positively impressed with, even though I'm not a fan of raisins. I skipped dessert because there's a limit to everything, but even then, the offer was tempting. I get up, pay €36, and leave, complimenting myself on the excellent lunch. I'm more than satisfied with the meal and the experience at the restaurant. Highly recommended. Thank you very much!

We found this spot on our first day in Verona and loved it. Everyone was very kind to us and the food was delicious. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic experience.

A very small osteria. A little out of the way from city centre. Generally food is predictably good. Small menu. I come here often whenever I m in town. Do not trust the hours shown in Google. Call to ascertain operating hours. The owners are not too welcoming if you get there a little too early.
