Osteria della Faina In Ameno

The atmosphere is rustic yet truly welcoming: as soon as you enter, you immediately feel like you're at your grandmother's house, in the countryside. The lady welcomed us with a smile and was incredibly kind and helpful, even taking into account my gluten intolerance, which I greatly appreciated. We started with the house antipasto, consisting of cheeses and cured meats from a local farm: everything was truly excellent. Furthermore, even though we hadn't ordered a first course, the chef offered us a sample of fresh pasta with meat sauce. I couldn't try it because of the gluten, but judging by the look and my companion's enthusiasm, it must have been truly delicious! For our second course, we chose the tagliata with potatoes and the tomino with grilled vegetables: both dishes were truly delicious. Our only regret? Not noticing the wild boar ribs served on a cast iron griddle at the next table until the end... they looked so inviting, I would have eaten them even after coffee! We will definitely be back: in addition to the excellent food, we found a family atmosphere and hospitality that really make the difference.

A while ago, we organized a lunch with family from Spain. Unfortunately, there were a lot of us, and it took us a while to arrive. Despite this, they waited for us with a smile. The food was authentic and good value. The owner was fantastic and made us feel at home. It's worth a visit!

THE place to eat. I was in Piedmont with a friend who is celiac. After several calls, we found Osteria della Faina, run by Pietro and his partner. We immediately felt a homely atmosphere, and celiac disease was no longer a problem. Pietro prepared us a risotto that was incredible, and welcomed us with cheeses, cured meats, and vegetables. We were right to trust them (even the wine!). An incredible experience, highly recommended, and I swear, if this osteria were here in the Marche, I would go at least once a week. I want to say a few more words about Pietro. The welcome he offered us is something that's been missing in restaurants these days, where the food has become a product and the customer is merely the person who enjoys it. In this case, you could feel the humanity and warmth of the place, in addition to the undeniable quality of the cuisine. I'll never forget the chat with the owner over a nice iced coffee. The welcome was very friendly and warm. We didn't speak Italian and they spoke little English, but it went very well. The meal was excellent from start to finish! The starter was very generous and delicious. The setting was authentic and peaceful, which was very pleasant. We highly recommend it!

In the woods of the upper Agogna Valley, in Tabarino di Ameno, lies "L'Ustaria della faina." It's exactly what you'd imagine an osteria to be: dark wood furnishings, a canopy for outdoor dining, and a small terrace with a few tables under a pergola of American grapes. It's one o'clock on a Saturday in July, with clear sunshine and just the right amount of heat, immersed in an unnatural silence, only the birdsong and the voices, hushed like ours, of four other diners under the canopy, perhaps all afraid of breaking the harmony of silence and song. Perhaps it's a trick the owners use to make the food seem better! And they succeeded with us. Excellent local artisanal lonzino and melon. Vitello tonnato, as you'd expect. A soft and firm eggplant parmigiana, accompanied on the side by a spoonful of Genoese pesto and a small piece of local ricotta. Excellent. An excellent Bonèt. Two glasses of decent white wine, mineral water. Price €56. Well spent. It's an osteria where you eat like a restaurant. She serves, he cooks, kind, discreet, and attentive. A very Italian place.
