January 2025 Before starting the review I read other people's reviews, I start with the worst and then the best as usual, what can I say, there are some great characters. I've been going to the place occasionally for years, today I decided to write a review, it more than rightly deserves it. Fabio is a person who is not a restaurateur for work, but for passion and he behaves as such. He admits if he makes mistakes and is always open to discussion, unfortunately he has the misfortune that in an attempt to be a cook I bother him about some recipe. He has chosen a local cuisine that he interprets and cooks with passion, he is keen to drink well and therefore offers his customers a very varied wine list. When he has the time he willingly passes between the tables for a chat, with the risk of my harassment.

It was chance that brought me to this Osteria The name certainly intrigued me and took me back in time, the first time there was no room, the location is small and very welcoming, it is important to book in advance, we chose the panissa menu, I didn't know this dish, it was a nice surprise, even the excellent veal with tuna sauce. super desserts!! We will definitely return to taste the dishes on the à la carte menu, which are very appealing. And then what can I say, we felt welcomed with kindness, professionalism and attention to detail was important!! Thank you

A welcoming place with super staff and excellent cuisine

Typical restaurant of Vercelli cuisine. Small but welcoming. The staff very kind and helpful. I found the dishes I tried to be normal. I tasted the veal with tuna sauce and the panissa, typical dishes of this area, but they didn't excite me too much. The internal room is suitable for a family dinner or better yet with colleagues. I recommend this place to anyone who happens to or passes through the area. It is advisable to book.

The tavern of the old asylum never disappoints, every time I discover different flavours. An experience to absolutely try. Very honest prices for the cuisine that is offered. Excellent!!!

Evening organized with friends. Excellent food, from the appetizer, to then move on to the panissa, what can I say.... fantastic, made an encore!! Then Mr. boiled meat, excellent in every way!! I will gladly return for another evening with friends. It is advisable to call first to get a price and quote.

We had lunch on Monday 31 October 2022, panissa menu for 3, excellent cured meats, very good house wine and truly 0 km panissa. Fabio, the chef is a beautiful person, as is the rest of the family. Excellent service, great attention also for our little dog! Great discovery, we returned today and took the menu of the day. 4.5 our rating! Update in the last two years this place has become one of our favorite places and we have returned every time we have had the opportunity, without ever being disappointed, they therefore deserve to go from 4.5. at 5! Un pur moment de bonheur et de chaleur. De l'accueil, au choix, à la carte des vins, au cadre et aux discussions sympathiques avec la famille qui gère ce joli établissement, tout était parfait. Idéal pour les amateurs de risotto car on est dans la région et ils savent mettre en valeur leur production locale. Mais que ce soit la battuta ou les pâtes, tout est délicieux. On y reviendra.

Ottimi piatti piemontesi, tutto davvero buono dall'antipasto al dolce, prezzi adeguati, locale pulito, staff simpatico! Consigliatissimo!
