Osteria del Pozzo In Ancona

On our 2-week trip to Italy, we find this gem in Ancona. Pure flavors, bordering on naked trust in the ingredients and fantastic service frame the picturesque restaurant in a way that opens both mind and soul. I am very impressed by the service and the simple but fantastically delicious food and will visit Del Pozzo again if I am in Ancona.

A place that doesn't look impressive from the outside, but once you enter, you fall in love! It was recommended to me, and I couldn't have found a better recommendation. The atmosphere inside is refined. The dishes are simple yet full of knowledge; you get the impression that the person behind the stove is more than just a great chef; they love eating fish. I tried a first course with sardines, pine nuts, raisins, etc., and on the second day, the baked cod. The side dish is always cabbage with anchovies and capers, a discovery that captivated me. There's no shortage of daily specials. The staff is discreet and friendly, and the background music plays pleasantly, accompanied by the calm chatter of the various guests. I always get the house white wine, which is good. In short, if you're passing through Ancona and don't know where to go, come here. I was alone, but if you're with more than one person, I recommend calling to book.

Delicious local food. Daily menu with meat or fish. Everything is delicious.

We wanted to eat fish...since we were near the sea. So we took some recommendations from our friends in the city. The place is clean, looks nice and the feeling was foretelling a nice dinner. My wife has a specific food allergy and we communicated that and were promised there is no onion in sight. But the service lagged, there were only one bar tender and one waiter/cook? It took forever to get our orders. The waiter was probably under influence of something because at some point she brought us the food for another table, it had onions, then the space since the first bottle of water and the second was worrying. But the food was very tasty, sea worthy I should say and we finished having satisfied our taste for the fish. Asking for a grappa I was recommended another brand which was indeed better. The desert however, was trying to be zuppa inglese...with little chance. Their skill in cooking fish is very good, it's a pity the rest was not at the same level.

Busy lunchtime place serving excellent food at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Tiramisu - the best I've ever eaten. Spaghetti delicious! I recommend this place.

Qui il pesce è fresco, lo senti, te ne accorgi. In più la cucina è esperta e sa dare equilibrio e gusto ai piatti. Pur rimanendo estremamente ancorati alla tradizione e alla tipicità i piatti ormai mostrano anche un buon piglio di modernità ma senza esagerazioni, esuberanze, eccessi. Il risultato è quanto mai valido specie se si considera che anche i prezzi mostrano un grosso equilibrio. Morale, il luogo dove non ti limiterai ad andarci una volta ‘tanto per provare’ ma che probabilmente lo farai tuo, tornandoci e ritornandoci perché ogni volta ti sentirai un po’ a casa. Noi proviamo un antipasto freddo e uno caldo (24 euro): mix di assaggini difficilmente dividibili ma che noi riusciamo comunque in due in qualche modo a condividere proprio per il desiderio di assaggiare entrambi più specialità possibili. A seguire degli involtini di pesce spada e un filetto di ombrina su vellutata di patate (17-19 euro) due piatti davvero molto molto validi. Von il coperto (2,50 euro) l’acqua di fonte trattata (1,50 euro) e mezzo litro di buon bianco locale (5,50 euro) spendiamo in totale 74,40 euro. Consigliato

un classico di ancona, cucina di una volta ... ho sempre mangiato con piacere, il locale mi piace molto ed il servizio spartano ed anconitano, sempre piacevole andarci
