Osteria Del Nano In Novara

We ate wonderfully, and the entire staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. The bunet was without a doubt the best I've ever eaten! I finally had the chance to try the paniscia, and it was truly excellent. When we asked how the donkey meat dish was prepared, they called the chef, who personally came to our table and explained everything in detail. A gesture we greatly appreciated. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming, and the wine was also really good. Experience 10/10. The prices are very reasonable, perhaps even too much so considering the quality of the food and service! I will definitely be back, and more than once.

We're on a three-day vacation in Piedmont. The owner of the B&B we're staying in immediately recommends this trattoria. We arrive Sunday afternoon, but it's closed in the evening. Monday is closed. We don't give up, and we try again on Tuesday. It's open! We're truly impressed: excellent food, a homey atmosphere, and friendly staff. We'd already complimented it, and then we were surprised by the bill. €31 for two. For those of us who are used to traveling, it's truly a thing of the past. Highly recommended! And it'll be a great reason to return to Novara!

Real Italian no-bullshit place❤️ Crazy value for money and just the right kind of nourishment

We're still sitting at the table, but we can't wait to compliment this wonderful place. Delicious food, generous portions, and top-quality home cooking! The atmosphere is welcoming, familiar, clean, and quaint. The all-female Sunday staff was extremely kind and attentive. We ate wonderfully, even had a few seconds, and we're already thinking about when and with whom we'll return! A wonderful discovery for a delicious and traditional Sunday lunch! Congratulations UPDATE: When it came time to pay, we discovered that the bill for two was only €60!!! We absolutely would have paid double that without batting an eyelid, and without any surprises, given the quality and quantity of the dishes! Appetizers, first courses, second courses, side dishes, desserts, water, and coffee! Congratulations again to all of you!

Excellent Piedmontese osteria, welcoming and friendly staff, but the outside doesn't do the inside justice. Recommended.

While wandering around Novara, we opted for this osteria. We had lunch there for two days. The first day, we weren't thrilled. We had paniscia, which was good but the rice was overcooked, and ravioli with meat sauce. A donkey stew was also good. Chicken legs cooked in beer and ribs with potatoes. A typical dessert, Bunet. Two bottles of water and a beer. When we got the bill, I was shocked because we paid €48.00. It wasn't much compared to my estimate, but then they told us they have a fixed lunch menu for €15.00, which includes a first course, second course, side dish, and a drink. The second day, they had some variations on the menu (arrabbiata instead of amatriciana, minced donkey/horse meat instead of donkey stew) in line with the previous day. We had two desserts and a local amaro, truly bitter! €54.00. To be honest, I wasn't blown away by the dishes. As I mentioned, the rice was a bit overcooked, the chicken was a bit sweet (it's a matter of personal preference, I know). On the second day, the ravioli with ragù were only stained by the sauce, while the day before, the ragù on the plate was just right. In any case, in my overall opinion, it's worth a try. Also, because it's authentic cuisine. The service is attentive but not intrusive.

A typical osteria, a warm and welcoming family atmosphere, delicious food. The quality/price ratio is really good, I will definitely return.
