A restaurant with a fixed-price menu, the price is definitely in proportion to the excellent quality of the food offered.
The owner is friendly and not at all "crazy": he made us feel at ease and explained in detail what his kitchen offers.

We entered a magical, colorful place. The Matto welcomed us in a warm, beautiful, simple, but magical environment. The simple, yet genuine dishes from Grandma's kitchen were all freshly prepared by this true, sincere grandmother, just like her dishes that want to pamper you. Appetizers, two sausages, two steaks, and finally the magic and goodness of homemade pasta. I also liked the coffee. I can't tell you about the wines because we didn't drink them, as we are teetotalers, but I saw that it's a little gem within the restaurant. I'll be back as soon as possible. Highly recommended.

Very good service, typical and welcoming place, shame about the food that was not typical at all... especially the second course, a dry pork chop without even a side dish... a real shame

Nice place, family run, everything cooked to order. Selection of appetizers, noteworthy are the fried courgette flowers in batter and the spelt with mushrooms and red onion. The pork rib not too exciting, good sausage. The real dish was the amatriciana made with strangozzi: a real delight. Fixed price of 27 euros with drinks on the side, we spent 70 euros for 2, including wine, water, 1 bitter and a coffee. Overall positive experience, good service, it was a pleasant lunch

In Spoleto for a little tour we came across the Osteria del Matto. A unique place that reflects Filippo's personality.
A mix of friendliness and a pinch of madness.
Grandma Santina's cuisine is excellent.
Fixed and surprise menus,
I recommend it for an alternative evening.

This was a fun and entertaining experience. The host or chef or owner comes and talks to everyone and jokes and ask you what you do for a living.
Then the courses start rolling out, and there are many delicious things. And they keep rolling out the main dishes, and the pasta. By 10 o’clock I couldn’t eat anymore. Very very fun place and delicious food.

Avevo letto precedentemente le recensioni del ristorante e ci siamo capitati davanti, senza troppe indicazioni, una sera di Gennaio, mentre eravamo alla ricerca di un ristorante dove mangiare e ripararci dal freddo pungente che colpiva Spoleto.
Prima di entrare noto una piccola lavagnetta all'ingresso: MENU FISSO 27€
Decidiamo di entrare, e il proprietario ci espone le 3 portate del menu fisso. Ci sediamo e ceniamo.
Qualità dei prodotti buona. Menù un pò povero, troppo casereccio ecco. Si che è un'osteria... però
Ambiente particolare, proprietario conviviale.

Sono stato in questo ristorante a carattere familiare durante il mio tour Spoletino e sono stato veramente bene, grazie ad Alessia e sopratutto alla mamma che è in cucina, piatti genuini della tradizione Spoletina
