We stayed a few days ago in this wonderful place. In addition to the exquisite food, a traditional set menu presented in a "crazy" order (first comes last), the people who work there make you feel right at home, perhaps because they are a beautiful family. The two cooks went out to exchange nice chats, anecdotes and explanations; in addition, we had the pleasure of being served by the talented granddaughter Luna! To sum it up, if you don't go you're really crazy!

We went to this place for a family lunch. Very original. The owner was very "crazy" with his playful and easygoing manner. The setting was also crazy. Glasses and dishes were different from each other. Courses served as desired. They started with bread with pâté, sausages (hot and good) and potatoes as well... and then brought home-made pasta and followed by a steak... all freshly cooked in my opinion. Modest fixed price with the addition of soft drinks and liqueurs in case.I went back for the second time😃

Everything was absolutely amazing. The plates kept on coming and each one was an amazing combination of flavors, you could taste the history of the region and care placed into each plate. Make sure to book a reservation, it fills up quickly in advance.

What can I say about Osteria del Matto? It was a truly wonderful Umbrian culinary experience. The warm welcome from the lady who’s been cooking everything herself for decades made it feel like home. The service was on point, and the quality-to-price ratio couldn’t be better.
The highlight of the meal is definitely the pasta, served at the end, rich in flavor and tradition. The house wine was excellent, and the space itself is beautifully chaotic, filled with a mix of unique and quirky details that make it truly special.
If being "matto" (that means crazy) means this kind of atmosphere and food, then count me in. I’ll definitely be back!

Avevo letto precedentemente le recensioni del ristorante e ci siamo capitati davanti, senza troppe indicazioni, una sera di Gennaio, mentre eravamo alla ricerca di un ristorante dove mangiare e ripararci dal freddo pungente che colpiva Spoleto.
Prima di entrare noto una piccola lavagnetta all'ingresso: MENU FISSO 27€
Decidiamo di entrare, e il proprietario ci espone le 3 portate del menu fisso. Ci sediamo e ceniamo.
Qualità dei prodotti buona. Menù un pò povero, troppo casereccio ecco. Si che è un'osteria... però
Ambiente particolare, proprietario conviviale.

Sono stato in questo ristorante a carattere familiare durante il mio tour Spoletino e sono stato veramente bene, grazie ad Alessia e sopratutto alla mamma che è in cucina, piatti genuini della tradizione Spoletina
