This was our first time in Messina, we wanted to celebrate my birthday. We were walking down the streets when we found this place. Food is mostly sea food. We ordered starter (Shrimps)+ main course (ravioli filled with spinach and cheese, prawns) +grilled Prawns+Rissoto with mussel and dessert (pineapple slices fresh). We also ordered local wine and 1 cola. Our bill was EUR 110 which I thought was bit high compare to the place and location. The food was nice and cozy. Good for family visit.

It was May 2025 when we ate here and I would LOVE to have their ravioli and A canoli right now. They were so good!!!!

We had a great outdoor spot. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Service was excellent, and we felt completely at home. A top address in Messina! You can also eat early (by Italian standards) (from 11:30 a.m.).

An excellent restaurant adjacent to Messina Cathedral. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. The restaurant is air-conditioned. Reservations are recommended, especially in the summer when the city is crowded with tourists and cruise passengers. The dishes offered (both meat and fish) are delicious. The only drawback is that the ingredients on the menu are listed exclusively in English. The prices are reasonable.

The seafood dishes were very tasty, the tiramisu was good, the meats were a bit overdone. The worst part of the visit was definitely the house wine – very poor. Hence, one star less, because if it weren't for the wine, this would have been a great visit. A big plus for the terrace, which is clean.

This restaurant was recommended by our tour guide as the, "best around" and I agree. The ravioli, and seafood was incredible. Highly recommend. See photos.

Tra tutti i locali visitati qui non ci è venuta voglia di tornare, non tanto per il pranzo: costi e cibo sono nella media, siamo rimasti abbastanza soddisfatti, l'arredamento è retrò, il ristorante molto comodo, in pieno centro; ciò che non ci è piaciuto è come il titolare tratta i dipendenti, tutti possono sbagliare e vanno giustamente ripresi e indirizzati, ma non a voce alta, in maniera più che sgarbata e volgare e davanti ai clienti, non si fa. Ci auguriamo che sia stato un episodio isolato, soprattutto per il rispetto che tutte le persone meritano, indipendentemente dai loro eventuali errori.

10/08/2025: I've been frequenting Bar Cautela in Campogrande since I was a child, and it's always been excellent, both for its desserts and everything else. This time I had the pleasure of trying the ricotta cannoli, made and filled to order: incredibly fresh and with an authentic flavor. Truly, truly delicious!

12/11/2025: We dined at this restaurant for the feast of San Martino. The experience was positive, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere of a clean farm and the quality of the food. The appetizers of cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables were fresh, delicious, and varied. The highlight was the macaroni with pork sauce (traditional and the nettle one, a house specialty): al dente pasta, flavorful sauce, and tender meat, a medium portion. The staff was extremely courteous and welcoming. The farmhouse-style atmosphere is warm and refined. The price was a bit higher than expected; for the appetizer, macaroni with pork sauce, local wine, and homemade liqueur, with a small homemade tart dessert, we spent €30 per person. Overall, an experience recommended for those seeking good traditional cuisine, attentive service, and a beautiful rural setting.
