The Piedmontese city of Bra and Slow Food are inextricably linked. This is where the Università del Gusto, founded by the association, is located and the headquarters of the global organization for the promotion of natural and traditionally produced food.
The Osteria del Boccondivino is located in the courtyard of the Slow Food headquarters. Together with its sister restaurant Osteria dell' Arco in Alba, it is one of the only restaurants in the world run by Slow Food - you can't get more Slow Food than that.
Traditional local dishes with genuine ingredients from trusted local producers.
No wonder Bra became a place of pilgrimage for gourmets from all over the world.
What is astonishing is that the restaurants simply and unspectacularly serve their Piedmontese specialties every day to both locals and tourists interested in culinary delights.
The restaurant terrace is a place of relaxation and enjoyment.
Not only is the entire range of Piedmontese cuisine on offer here, but also a large selection of first-class wines from the region - the prices are sensationally low - this may also be because the restaurants are run by a cooperative.
Our dinner began with first-class starters: Fassone beef tartare, Lardo and the famous Salsicia di Bra as well as crispy baked sweetbreads on caramelized onions and the legendary Tajarin, Piedmontese fine egg noodles made with 40 egg yolks per kg of flour.
Afterwards we tried tender roast veal with rosemary jus or gravy and roasted peppers.
The panna cotta offered here is one of the best in the world among gourmets and my favorite Bunet also tasted exceptionally good.
The Rosé Diagonal from the Repetto winery in Sarezzano was a first-class accompaniment to this culinary summer evening in Bra.

We had lunch today with friends, as I have intolerances I had no problems, in fact they were truly wonderful, excellent food from the starter to the main course, the excellent desserts, the amazing panna cotta and the hot eggnog with the meliga biscuits that melted in your mouth, a delight. I highly recommend it. Thank you so much for the attention and kindness of the staff, we will definitely be back.

Small place, also accessible by wheelchair because it has a lift! I recommend booking and in general to absolutely come because it's worth it!!
Menu that highlights local products with simplicity, but with excellent execution. This is demonstrated by the duck, cooked to perfection, accompanied by a light and fresh salad with radicchio and orange. The trio of raw meat, Bra sausage and lard is classic and excellent.
The pumpkin tortelli with hazelnut butter are special. The sweetbreads with artichokes are very good.
It's worth finishing your dinner with their panna cotta.
Quick service.
Fair price.

We went for my partner's birthday. The restaurant from the street has a small sign with slowfood signs too; as soon as you enter the internal courtyard you will find some captions that tell the history of the place and the structure.
The entrance to the place is on a staircase with a lift and at first we wondered where to go, we went up to the first floor and waited for someone to pass by and asked for our reservation.
Shortly afterwards we were accompanied to our table in a room of the restaurant which occupies the entire first floor and the ground floor, a beautiful room.
The table is with paper placemat and cloth napkin.
The wine list is very varied and very full-bodied from usual wines to some refined and particular bottles, the choice of wine by the glass is also good; in my case I took a glass of grignolino and, which was appreciated, the bottle was opened and explained at the table.
For lunch the waiting times were more than adequate and the staff was always present in the room.
We found the breadsticks very hard compared to our habit.
For an appetizer I took some vitello tonnato, a good dish, both in presentation and taste; the first was pumpkin tortelli with hazelnut butter, the sauce was good but the pumpkin filling was too soft and with a hint of nutmeg; the second was an appetizer of a trio of samples of Bra sausage, lard and tartare; we concluded with an eggnog with three meliga pastes, the latter almost anonymous and the moscato, although good, I found it not very fruity and when paired with the eggnog it was lost.
An average lunch for the quality of the place.

We were extremely happy with the experience.
We tried several dishes and they all turned out to be excellent. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional and each dish was well prepared and tasty. Super recommended! Worth every euro spent.
